Trailer Park Boys… Rickyisms. Warning! Contains (what may be considered) offensive language.
Rule #2 Please don’t use dirty language, please don’t swear, and please avoid lewd or risqué conversations.
I hope this doesn’t break that rule.
One of Ricky’s quotes which I have used after using some flashlights. “This Thing Here Is Smarter Than Me I Guess, But It Has A Battery.”
Languages don’t change, people become lazy and make up words. Making up words cannot and will not ever change the language.
Saying “what’s up bro” is not proper English yet we all do it, myself included. That does not make it right. Because a lot of people do something, does not make it right.
A person told me he couldn't imagine living a 100 years ago. It must have been really boring because everything was in black and white .

I live in Central Louisiana — Lot of Cajun descent here — so between lots of words being translated to English and the names of places, towns and items —it get’s pretty wacky around here —- The proper English speaking population have trouble pronouncing our words — It’s hilarious at times
Try these on for size — Atchafalaya River — Bayou Gauche— Des Allemands— Krotz Springs— Opelousas (not where the Oompa-Loompas are from )

This is simply false. Do you still speak Old English, or Sumerian for that matter? No because language changes. Was Shakespeare lazy? He invented over 1,700 words we still use today. Language is in a constant state of change. What is considered formal (what you are calling “correct”) does not look like the formal English of 200 years ago, and will not look like formal English 200 years from now.
The thing about Lunintop is that it is spelt wrong, it should be Lumentop if you wanted to use the right word for lumens in the name.
The english language deserves to be tortured, it’s a POS bastardized outdated steaming pile.
There are soo many exceptions that they should be the rule ![]()
For example;
I before E
Except when your foreign neighbor Keith
receives eight beige counterfeit sleighs
from feisty caffeinated weightlifters.
Weird.
Comes from my favorite coffee mug.
My number one argument with current accepted/proper usage is this;
Bob pleaded guilty to the burglary charge 6 months ago.
Ohh, Really?
Did Bob also eated his breakfast 6 hours ago?
Noooo, He ate it and the criminal Plead Guilty, why can’t they fix that!
As far as the slang, if you can understand what they meant (and usually you can) then BFD.
Anyone wants to play word cop, knock yourself out, but you are fighting a lost cause.
I call it Law and Order SUV instead of SVU just to drive my wife nuts.
Avril Lavigne, nope, call her Advil
Simple pleasures.
Laterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

My favorite video game of all time, Persona 5 Royal, uses the "word" prolly all the time, and it annoys me.
Prolly is not a word, in my book.

Not just that, but grammar issues in general…
-“your right” vs the correct “you’re right”
-“were are you” vs the correct “where are you?”
Innercity talk and lack of education.
My college professor used to say, if you abbreviate on the exam, I will abbreviate with your grade.
I am guilty…Sometimes I use “tho” instead of “though”. And off course I make many mistakes writing, but in my defense, English is not my first language, and I am self-taught.
Omnicron
I laffed when I heard that one the first time. Said to myself I’m gonna design a computer and call it the Omnicron.
