Reality is somewhere in between. Something like 1 -> 50 -> 800 ->1900 -> 3500 -> xxx (not tested with full cells yet, so far I have seen "only" 4300lm OTF/30s).
Seems to work also with protected, but you need high drain cells to get full output. And rest assured: There will be some outdoor beamshots in the review.
If it’s a 4 amp or greater draw then NCR18650BD is a bare minimum start. That’s going to sag the #$ out of lesser batteries. I’d look at Samsung INR18650-25R 2500mAh (Cyan) and other high drain cells in the 2500 mah range. I just ordered the light and look forward to possible mods.
K60 being 4 cells I believe its running 12v where as the K40m is 3 cells running 9v. Size wise I wish they would make it with the K40m head. As is the K60 list an outrageous throw, but I don’t ever recall looking for anything over 200 yards with a light. I want small over throw and 5k lumens is going to throw some even as a mule.
I just took delivery of my K60,yes it’s bright.Using Panasonic NCR18650B cells it performed well, but I do have some high drain cells on there way, will be interested in comparing the cells.I would consider it more on the cool side, but certainly not in a bad way in my opinion.Compared to my TK61vn I just sold the K60 does produce quite a bit more light, will be better for my tastes for anything under 200 yards, but the TK61vn was quite a dowel of light that obviously will out throw the K60 quite easily. So far I am happy with my purchase, especially because I was fortunate enough to get in on the coupon code before they removed it
Best $138 I have ever spent on a new flashlight, great all round beam, good throw with lots of useful spill.Hopefully there will be more deals coming up soon.
