So will the place I bought it from (from the group buy you started a bit ago) fully refund me if I decide I don't want to keep the light? I'm worried I won't be able to fix it if it does start whining. I have never modded or built any of my own flashlights yet so I am afraid I would break it even further. Do they have a warranty or refund policy?
Sorry to hear about the K70 problems. I was coded into the GB and decided not to order at the last minute. I had read about the problems they had with a charging port on a model a year ago, and the fiasco that went along with that. The fact they are so anal about MAP, and the prices jacked up unrealistically. Decided I just didn’t want to deal with Acebeam no matter how good this particular light was.
Thanks for all the work you did on getting this together DJ, not your fault. Nature of the game dealing with some of these FL manufacturers I guess.
No, not yet a K70 or EC50 owner, but was on the verge of buying before reading the problems (here and on that other flashlight forum) with lights and the frustrations with getting treated as valued customers.
Is Acebeam even reading/listening? You could have the greatest torches, lowest costs and no competition. But if no quality control or responsive, positive customer service, you’re sunk!
I just received mine and so far so good. Slight hum on turbo but only when you put it next to your ear. Sorry to hear about your LED tru3. Return it. You shouldn’t have any problems if you do so ASAP. The warranty card says “1) We replace any defective lights within 15 days of purchase.”
I just received mine and I’m very happy to report no issues with the k70. It was purchase when the groupbuy was going on. Well report any issues in the future.
I just received mine today from the same group buy that people are referencing. I have black spots on my emitter. What are the thoughts on this other than it could have been caused by temperature at some point? Is it missing phosphor, the layer above that, or? Other than its ugliness, does this have some negative impact on functionality? I’m weighing whether or not to pursue a refund.
I just opened mine up and I also noticed some black spots on the emitter. A lot of black dots actually. I'm assuming this is not supposed to be like this... What should I do?
You can see them better in the second picture from the reflection. I couldn't get my phone to focus. I haven't turned it on yet. charging up some batteries. hopefully there is no noise
