Acebeam l16 v2 vs skillhunt EC500

I’m trying to decide between the Acebeam L16 V2 and the skillhunt EC500.

Any opinions would be great.

Both have multiple reviews so pros and cons are out there. EC500 is larger, has better throw and it’s cheaper.

I reviewed both, and I think they’re both very good flashlights. I probably wouldn’t be cross-shopping these for the same use case. One is a dedicated intermediate thrower and powerbank; the other is a throwy duty-style light.

The EC500 has a larger head, a tighter hotspot, and more throw. It’s an intermediate thrower, but definitely a dedicated thrower such that you’d probably want to have another flashlight for illuminating things up close. It’s also a USB powerbank.

The L16 2.0 is an all-purpose light with significant throw. I’d be content in most situations if it was my only flashlight, but it does have quite a bit less reach than the EC500, so it’s not as good at being a secondary light just for throw. The instant-max tailswitch could be a big plus if you see yourself using the light in a high-stress situation or for signaling. It’s also waterproof with the USB flap open, while the EC500 is not.

2 Thanks

I have read all the reviews and right now I’m leaning towards the the EC500 but on Amazon the Acebeam is cheaper by $20.

I love throw and they both have it. The EC500 is around 940 meters and the L16 is 670 meters.

I don’t own a skillhunt and I would like to have one to try. Do you have any skillhunt flashlights?
