Our ACEBEAM is going to publish a latest and most attractive Search LED Flashlight X80 in following days. It adopts 12 * CREE XHP50 LEDs, 7 locations to set UV LED or CREE XPE2 Blue/Green/Red LED.
There are 3 proposals about the 7 locations as below:
1)3* red+ 3* blue and 1* UV;
2)3* red+ 3* green and 1* UV;
3)3* red+ 3* green and 1* blue;Which one you prefer ? Look forward to your good ideas.
The X9 is around $400, right? The Acebeam X65 already costs as much or more, so I can see this X80 selling for over $700. Thatās about 3x more than Iām willing to pay for any single light right now.
Itās better to be able to put out at least 26k OTF lumens or else I donāt see the point of this model.
And itās going to be super floody with this kind of big-die emitters + small reflectors configuration.
My 16X XHP50 does 37K, but that's FET based. I'd guess they would do 24K max, but probably 20K or under. My 16X at least gets some decent throw because there is some reflector size, but this one has virtually nothing. It would be interesting to see the price and numbers on it.

I am not fond of proprietary battery packs, I like the old battery carriers where I could pick whatever hi performance 18650 I like, Wish the X65 had a battery carrier it might have convinced myself buying one.

I was having trouble getting that last night. I would sure like to see a side view of this thing. Iām sure theyāll post that soon.
One of my first thoughts was. Is this also going to have a built-in battery pack? Plus, that thought also played into just where to post this here in BLF. I wasnāt able to find a āBattery Packā section.
I am going to guess 24,000lm. It looks like they are throwing in everything but the kitchen sink here. What is the target market they are after with this thing I wonder?
I also wonder about the target market for the colored LEDs in the center. They take up a lot of space that could be used to increase the throw. Maybe a better use of the space would be to put a single reflector with XHP35 to have the option of a lower power narrow beam with some throw.
Wow, that business end looks formidable. On the flip, I find it quite aesthetically unappetising. I look forward to seeing what the rest of unit looks like.
I am with you there AlexGT. No battery packs for me either. Though I can see their appeal. For people who only have one flashlight (or very few) for example, and donāt use them very often. They like to just keep them plugged in, and ready to go at a moments notice. Years can go by, and their battery pack will have seen very few charging cycles.
For you and I. We like to change it up. We use our flashlights much more often, and can use the latest and greatest cells at any time. Say 6 years from now, we can easily pop-in a brand new set.

Not sure on this, for me the colour LEDs are a waste as donāt want or need them. Would prefer xhp35HIās, be them In a reflector or optics (narrow focus). As for battery packs, presuming itās an 8x18650 light, sometimes carriers are not user friendly . When I use the tk75 with added run time kit(4+4 ), itās a pita swapping out in day lightā¦.never mind in the field. Carriers do have advantages at times, plug in and charge wins for me in this caseā¦.subjective I know.
