AfterShip - review of the iPhone app for tracking shipments (also available for Android)

AfterShip

I recently downloaded this iPhone app for tracking my shipments. It’s not perfect, but allows me to copy the tracking numbers for my shipments and label them. I get tired of forgetting what I have coming in, searching through emails for tracking numbers, or having to constantly check tracking. It also allows me to enter tracking info and I can see if there is an issue, like never actually being sent. It also sends notifications, such as when it is received, or out for delivery, or delivered. It is supposed to report for 241 shipping carriers.

A cool feature is if you copy a tracking number from an email, when you enter the app it reads your clipboard, identifies it as a tracking number, and asks if you want to add the tracking number for the app to follow, and it allows you to name the tracking number.

One glitch though, sometimes the tracking information is in Chinese. It isn’t a complete turnoff for me as I can still use the app as a convenient storage place for all the tracking numbers. I can always go into the details and copy the tracking number and enter it into USPS to track.

It’s FREE. Called AfterShip. I’m not associated with them, just thought I’d pass it along.

Thanks for posting about this App. I’m going to use it.

It doesn't work with Malaysia Post (Fasttech send me to Germany knives only with Malaysia Post) - 17track (which I use online for tracking) hasn't an app.

Hmm. It lists Malaysia Post Registered and Malaysia Post EMS. I do know that Netherland Post is not listed as an available carrier.

On android I use an app called shiprack. It’s not the most beautiful UI, but I just forward my shipping confirmation emails to packages@shiprack.com, it recognizes it coming from my email, pulls the tracking number from email, then syncs it with the app on my phone. I have a script in gmail that automatically forwards emails with certain keywords. You can also add them manually if you need to.

Tried this on my home PC and it works way better than the slow 17Track.

It can decipher those strange Gearbest shipping codes and really gives detailed progression of package.

There is another awesome package tracking tool named Trackingmore which is well worth trying.
