…Is there a way to get the site to consistently load in my language?? And how do I get it back to English when it does this??
Try deleting your AliExpress cookies.
That should fix the problem for now.
I think the problem happens when you click on an AE link that is country specific.
If you manually change the link, you can make it an international link.
For example, I can change this link…
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256805587456317.html
to this…
https://www.aliexpress.com/i/3256805587456317.html
I know that’s an annoying solution, but it does work.
This happens to me sometimes and it is sooooo annoying.
I found that it happens when someone posts link from aliexpress page that is not in english language and I do not check before clicking the link.
Then aliexpress saves in cookies different language setting and continues opening new pages in undesirable language. I usually go to cookies, find all from aliexpress, delete the most of them, especially those that are somehow pointing to different language like aliexpress.it.
If this doesn’t help I delete all cookies that are related to aliexpress.
This usually does the job.
You’re right, this frequently happens when you click on a link that is not in your native language. And it stays that way. So I always let CCleaner thoroughly clean my computer before I shut it down. The only cookies I like are the cookies I can eat.
Yeah, what they said.
Yet Another Reason why I don’t use AX anymore, and haven’t even looked in years.
I was a CCleaner user until recently, I didn’t know about the malware issue.
I gave up on the web version of Ali after it kept locking me out of my account, or kept changing regional/language version.
Reluctantly installed the app, it probably harvests my data but at least I can buy cheap stuff in English
Piriform advised that installing version 5.34 or later, would eliminate the thread. I run version 6.13 and I’m quite satisfied.
Yeah, the problem was with a 2017 version of CCleaner.
Newer versions don’t have that problem.
If I used that 2017 version of CCleaner, my system got infected, and I fixed that infection years ago.
I really like CCleaner for handling my cookies.
It took some effort because I have a lot of internet accounts, but the cookies that I want to keep don’t get deleted meanwhile the other cookies do get deleted when I run the cleaner.
I block inbound and outbound traffic for cCleaner (ver 6.12) figuring that if it can’t communicate with the outside world that it can’t harm me.
You can have that functionality with your browser without the need for another 3rd party software.
For example Brave Browser supports this, other Chromiums too (I think).
Yeah, I can get certain links to work, but it always goes back to gobbledegook once I click on the next link.
Hmm…
I wasn’t aware of that…
I use Opera, Brave, Vivaldi, and Firefox.
Ccleaner cleans the cookies of all of my browsers all at once.
Plus, Ccleaner does a lot more than just cleaning cookies.
In brave://settings/cookies you can set “Sites that can always use cookies” (these wont be deleted) and switch on “Clear cookies and site data when you close all windows”

Nice!
