That’s weird indeed. I can still see the description of Klarus…

This is for me. Are you on mobile? Seems like on the website it shows the correct description. What an odd thing.

Yes. The screenshot is from my mobile app.
Luckily regardless of the description we know what to expect

I spotted the BLF A6 over a week ago and I new that Manker first manufactured the BLF A6, before the version that Banggood started selling, so I decided to order 2 flashlights (1 blue, 1 red in NW). Not only for the nostalgia of it, but also for the A6 A17DD FET driver.

I recieved mine today:

A few things that I noticed:
-The material/cardboard of the boxes was slightly different.
-They had different (pocket) clips; the red one has a larger/deeper one than the blue one.
-The red one has an ‘orange’ AR coating, the blue doesn’t seem to have AR coating.
-Both have a A17DD driver, but they look a bit different; also, the red one seems to have flashing pads, the blue one doesn’t.
-Both run the standard 7 mode ‘A17DD-UI’, with Turbo (also) from moon with a long half-press. (mode memory disabled from factory)
-The blue one has holes in the driver retaining ring to unscrew it, the red one doesn’t (but still seems to be screwed in!)
-The blue one has a white (coated) MCPCB, the red one a red MCPCB (from what I can tell without taking them apart).
-Both came with a Manker branded wrist strap.

Due to a number of these differences between the 2 (including the slightly different box), I suspect that they might be from different batches/production runs, but I’m obviously not 100% sure if that’s really the case.

I just checked and as @INeedMoreLumens stated, the threads are trapezoidal and do not match the current Convoy S2+ threads!

All in all I’m happy with both flashlights for this price and it will be a fun (and affordable) flashlight to update/do some mods to.

EDIT:
Just noticed that the Neutral White that I ordered seem to be closer to 4000K than to 5000K. Also, it seems to have very little tint shift, which is nice, certainly when you consider that it has Cree XP-L LED’s!

All sold out

They’re not! 23 available

Try adding one to your cart.

For me in Italy is still available

No problem with that:

Maybe it’s the regional issue?

I am currently on the moon, surprised they dont ship to that region.

They don’t ship to the moon? What a shame. I’m on Mars and still received my package on time!

Sofirn HS40 showing at $14.54

I’ve never paid attention to this model since I’m not a fan of L-angle headlamps, but judging from reviews the runtime graphs show it’s somewhat regulated - probably linear driver? There’s zig-zagging on turbo but on other levels the runtime graphs seem rather flat.

I won’t get one but I’m posting here in case anyone’s interested.

It’s a buck driver with SST-40 and a very shallow reflector. It has standard sofirn UI which is nice, including moonlight mode and stepped/smooth ramping. I got one and replaced the reflector with a TIR and I like it quite a lot. It’s also easy to emitter swap and get a nice high CRI emitter in there like the 519A. If you need a headlamp and are willing to do a bit of modding it’s a very worthwhile buy.

What a waste that it’s a right angle then. Such a shame.

What TIR did you use? The HS40 reflector looks similar to the SP40. I converted my SP40 into a triple 519A with 10508 optic, but if I could do the same to the HS40 I’d obviously rather have the buck driver.

They look similar but are not. The HS40’s reflector is a lot shallower. In fact it is so shallow I had to grind down the TIR to make it shorter and added a rubber seal ring between the bezel and the body because it still extended out by half a mm. I think the HS40 would be a better host for triple conversion since the triple TIR is usually very short.

IIRC the HS40 has a pretty narrow cavity for the board/optic, not just shallow. I’ll look again soon, but I think that’s why I was thinking of using a TS10 board/optic for a triple conversion.

Do you know if there’s a pcb behind the shelf that runs up to the switch, like the SP40 has? I had to make the spacer U shaped to run the wires to the triple mcpcb, since I couldn’t drill through the shelf.

I was able to use a standard 20mm mcpcb in my SP40, but had to sand a couple mm off the diameter. I originally got a FWAA mcpcb and optic, but the optic didn’t fit as well as a Carclo.

Do you have pictures or a post on this mod?
