Alkaline vs NiMH in 4AA Manker MK41 NW

This is the more recent release of the MK41. Apparently the first ones were brighter on 1.5v batteries. Mine can’t get to 500 lumens, even after using the engineering mode to raise the output to the max (which ruins the moonlight). It uses the XHP35 HI 4000K.

Not all alkaline batteries are the same, but I don’t think the results will be very surprising to anyone. Basically you can get almost twice the output or you can get the same output for almost twice as long with rechargables:

Even though I know li-ion batteries have way more performance, and due to the smaller size I’m way more likely to use one, I find these multi-AA lights interesting.

Both the blue and yellow lines are for NiMH?
Never mind.
The blue line must be turbo and the yellow line medium. :+1:

Yeah, I wasn’t sure if I should add that to the legend or not. I was concerned it would create a lot of wasted space on the right side of the image. I don’t think it tends to vertically stack the labels. I think if there was also an alkaline turbo line, the sort of symmetry might have made it clearer. But I didn’t want to burn through 8 batteries.
