ALL THINGS BUDGET KNIVES

It looks like it works the same way as the Wicked Edge, but it isn’t an exact copy of it. For $57 shipped it’s a pretty good deal.

I’d ask if they’re able to get a second set of sharpening stones though.

My only consern has been the stones. Apex clone had stones that crumbled/wore out very easily. Havent seen any reviews about the wicked edge -clone… Hence trigger has not been pulled yet.

I bought that WE clone a little while ago, haven’t had much time to use it because I want to fix it’s flaws first. Can’t say much for the stones as I don’t have much use in them. The weight of the aluminum blocks with stones mounted I find far too heavy. The real WE uses plastic blocks with one stone each which really makes it easy to cycle rather quickly with light impacts when you touch the stones to the blade. The other two issues are actually the same issues the first generation of the real one had and those are: the blocks wobble on the guides and the pivots wobble. If you really want to get that super fine edge all play needs to be removed. My plan when I get around to it is to make new blocks from PVC (actually PVC outdoor trim) and drill the holes so they are as tight as will still move. For the pivots I’m going to try to just slip some rubber tubing over them to make them a little springy instead. Talked to a friend of mind who is much more into knives than me and has a lot of experience with the WE and we more or less came to conclusion that this clone with tweaking will probably work but the real one does have some real advantages and things like the diamond laps, more precise machine work and great customer service make the real one worth it if you are serious about knives. For me I like knives and want to be able to sharpen them but for most of my knife uses scalpels and carpet knives make more sense and I like tweaking stuff so this cheap clone is fine as toy to sharpen my knives on occasion with.

The frame-lock version of the G720:

Ganzo G722 Orange
Ganzo G722 Green
Ganzo G722 Black

Now that is a pretty good looking LionSteel Ganzo…. Does the framelock lock work, or is it just for show? I am very happy with my G720, I love the Axis slide lock system…

That’s a simple lock-bar stabilizer not a rotoblock.

Well spotted Isti - this may well be on my list come pay day, though I prefer the scale pattern on the 720 series.

Thanks for your thoughtful insights. I think I have to start considering the real deal again… Luckily I have no money

For those that may have a problem with Aliexpress, I see Fasttech also now has the new Ganzo autos https://www.fasttech.com/products/1/10001878/2629500-authentic-ganzo-g7212-bk-stainless-steel-folding

Wow, what a beautiful knife that böker e3, but it is a copy i suppose.
Very interesting that new model from ganzo, the g722, really i do not know what knife would buy. I like framelocks and they are not very used, i like my enlan el08 for having it, and with stabilizer. Certainly i like a lot more the texture of the g720 against the g722, and the axis lock like a lot too… very funny to play with it, but the omega springs can give us a bad new.

I want the Ganzo G722.

…and the new Ganzo G723:

I Pm’d top knives to get the second blade(good luck getting the second blade if you want it. I almost was not able to get it, limited supply)

The ganzo 720, 722, 723 and 724 seems a little similar. Specially the 724 and 720. We will need a photo with all of them near!

Thanks for the link. I notice a few differences between the linked ones and the ‘gen2’ that you posted photos of. What are the main differences, and where can gen 2 be found? Do they ship the ones in their photos or the ones like the gen2 in your photos?

Thanks again!

Thing is, if you want any of these knives you need to buy them NOW because blade thickness and quality is going down while the prices are going up. Personally, style and blade thickness are my two main selling features.
