Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

Chineseium amps are different.

slmjim

Yeah, but they do lumuns, not lumens, so that’s like 1000× better.

You need that in a flashinght.

We need more Amazon deals and a reduction in discussions.

You have a mouse in your pocket??? :smiling_imp:

I personally enjoy the banter…

Though, deals are great also!

You want deals? Here’s a deal…

I reviewed 'em, pretty nice. Was considering one as a bike-light, as they draw only 17W for some pretty decent white/yellow light with a real honest-to-B’harni (pbuh!) constant-wattage buck regulator.

They were viponned at 16bux, but now instead have a 50% off clicky for 20bux total.

They do kick in at about 8V and hit max/constant brightness at about 10V, so you’d need a 3S system of lithies to power 'em, but still…

Was thinking of a tool battery-pack to have a built-in BMS and be able to plug-in charge 'em.

Received the Wurkkos TS11 from Amazon, the 18650 tube was not included. In case that’s a deal breaker for anyone.

Thanks for confirming that. Hopefully they’ll make good on the declaration.

I know that for many here, a “captive battery” flashlight is a no-go. But, in the micro EDC / keychain realm, it can be a good thing.

RovyVon is well known for their small flashlights having proprietary cells. But I can attest that my 5+ year old Aurora A8 is still going strong and the battery doesn’t feel like it has degraded much at all. The one big downsize is the cost. Original prices are relatively high. Especially when you look at what you can buy otherwise. Plus, there are now “RovyVon clones” floating around at like $10~18 (depending upon sales). Well, I did pick up a clone. And on it’s own it was OK, but the Aurora is clearly a much better made flashlight.

The Aurora line progression has been steady over the years. Micro USB to USB-C. Mediocre rubber buttons to high quality machined steel buttons with steel bezels. Increased battery size. Magnetic clip. Detachable magnetic base… I bought a 2nd generation A5 a few years back and it’s my favorite micro-flashlight. $47 was a bit much, but finally RovyVon lowered their prices to $36.95.

Anyway, onto the Amazon deal. At present the seller has had the Aurora A5 (G4) on discount. Not only marked down to $37.95, there’s now a 20% coupon on top of it bringing cost down to $31. Throw in $4 more for your order and you get free shipping. If you order off of the RovyVon website, it’s $36.95 plus $7.95 shipping. The one advantage of the RovyVon site is that you can select what forward emitter you want (SST-20 6500k or Nichia 219C).

Been doing that with a few things. Amazon has lots of adapters for tool pack batteries.
All the best,
Jeff

What LED comes in that model, if known?

There are 2 LED choices from RovyVon.
650 lumens max - SST-20 (cool white)
450 lumens max - Nichia 219C (neutral/warm)

This one has the SST-20. I have one of these in an A28. In mini EDC form, these lights are used just for quick illumination. Not major long term use. So, for me, tint isn’t as important.

The Auroras are good for gifts but the TS10 is on sale at about $20.

Edit: ok, ok. I have an aurora clone so I carry this on my keyring and the TS10 has been my pocket hanger EDC.

TS10. My favorite EDC light… but not any good options for use as a keychain light.
Still, a great gift light IMHO (especially at $20), though you probably want to include (EDIT: a 14500 cell or two AND) a charger.

BTW, the side lights can be useful, but mostly they are too fiddly to get to. Especially for the times that I would use them…
A Skillhunt E3A is on my keychain. Smaller than the Aurora clone that I have, replaceable calls.

The TS10 is a terrific value. No doubt about it. But $20 doesn’t include a great quality 14500. And that adds on. Plus, the TS10 has no charging capability. And lastly, it’s huge compared to an Aurora A5 / A7 / A8.

While the Aurora is not as bright, lacks Anduril, and is capped at 330mAh, it brings other values to the table that the TS10 cannot (like pinky finger size, side lights, magnetic clip). I own both! :smirk::sunglasses:

(FWIW, I wouldn’t bother with the all metal Auroras. They have no side lights. And the side light is a terrific feature.)

wow. too hard to resist for $15.

1 Thank

This is not the first time its been $15.

If you spend more than $100 on Wurkkos.com you get one for free.

The TS32 for $66 without cells is a hell of a deal – Great Light

Picked up one of these at a discount. $18.47 + 10% off (maybe).
For a D-2 steel flipper.
Just got it in. flipper hing is about perfect. Smooth and easy, with no play at all.
The unlock button is too darned small and hard to push.
Came with an even grind on both sides.
Darned sharp out of the box. Easy slice in paper. Smooth cut the whole edge length. No hangups.
Beefy handle with some weight to it. Nice contours.
Time will tell on the hardness etc.
All the Best,
Jeff

is this the same as the one from their website? Does the 3x single color aux led mean it can only have 1 color on the aux and can’t change?
