Amazon Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

These were being viponned for 1¢. Regular non-vipon price was 2¢.

I had to order one, just for s&g and see if it actually arrives.

I’ll eat the penny if it’s a no-show. :joy::rofl::joy:

“Hmmmm. Why does the battery pack say ‘THIS SIDE TOWARDS ENEMY’??”

Reminds me of a joke — The Suicide Bomber instruction guide — I’m only gonna show you this Once

I ordered a Vipon winter coat once for $6. Figured WTH, how bad can it be. After a long while of no show the order was self cancelled (?) and my money was refunded.

I wonder how many Etransport devices right now, are overcharging their batteries.

I recently got an inexpensive Eskate board. 106$ delivered but retail 140-180$

7S 1P battery 2200mah, claimed.

Power supply/charger says 1.5amps, 29.4vdc.

When measured, OCV of powersupply was 30.16v.

I spliced Anderson powerpoles inline on DC output so I can place my wattmeter inline.

The charge port always shows battery voltage, so I can monitor battery voltage easily.

When charging a dischaRged battery measuring 25.33v, 1.53amps flowed into battery as voltage rose slowly.

When voltage was 29.35, 0.67 amps were still flowing.

Next time i looked a short while later, it was 29.82v and 0.62 amps, and I immediately unplugged it.

Battery voltage took 2 minutes to bleed down to 29.5, and 24 hours later was 29.39v.

Next time i charged baTtery i had a 5amp XL4015 based voltage bucker inline inb between power supply and battery, and wattmeters on both sides of Vbucker.

OCV of power supply this time was 29.89v.

I Dialed Bucker output voltage to 29.39v, then hooked to baTtery, then limited amperage to 0.98 amps.

I love potentiometers.

I came back to a green light on the powersupply, and it was holding 29.89v, and sending 0.1 amp of current to bucker. Wattmeter on other side of Vbucker sIde, said 29.39v and 0.06 amps.

I terminated charging and baTtery voltage fell to 29.38v

I let it rest for a few minutes, and 29.38v.
For grins i plugged in powersupply directly to battery without the safety Vbucker inline.

Instant 29.72v and 1.32 amps flowing into fully charged battery.
Disconnected immediately, and battery voltage took a while to fall back towards 29.39v.

I obviously cant trust this powersupply.

I wonder how many Etransport devices right now, are overcharging their battery packs.

Wring out a microscopic amount of extra runtime, wear out the cells fast to “encourage” people to buy something new.

Sounds like a win-win for them, because they’d probably be out of business by the time anyone would complain.

Too likely. Short term profits at the expense of long term…whatever-reliability, integrity, honesty, etc.

It’s a regular thing on the news in Australia for Ebikes and scooters going up in flames. Usually charging inside houses with dire outcomes. Some bike batteries have been DIY efforts. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Here’s an interesting scam story… where the buyer doesn’t really get scammed, but instead the company does. NPR: Wake Up and Smell The Fraud.

Vehpro on Vipon. 90% off deals. TGTBT…for your entertainment purposes only. I’d buy the trike if I thought…oh nevermind. Not gonna link.

vehpro also has some 35lb " Vehpro Weight Plate 2-Inch Rubber Coated Olympic Grip Plate for Barbell" for $5 after discount, ship late November / early December. Tempted, but might be moving and don’t need more junk.

Code: DZZDSG76 https://a.co/d/6x6R3So

Saw that. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen weight plates for less than $1 per pound. Again TGTBT? YMMV

Well… movement on the E-Bike… they received Something at the sorting center In Shenzhen.

Are they concrete filled weights or cast iron? All the coated cheapies seem to be filled with concrete.

Rechargeable Windproof dual arc lighter with flashlight $5.5 with code 75AGWSU8

2 Thanks

I got $22.98. How did you get it down to $5.50?

I’m sorry there is a code 75AGWSU8. Worked for me. I’ll correct my post. I’m getting sloppy.

1 Thank

dang. the code is probably prejudiced. it brought it down to $5.74 :sob: only but i am not going to sweat over 24 cents. :sunglasses:

2 Thanks

I grabbed one too. Thanks for the heads-up!

10.01 for 2 out the door, tnx!

I know someone who was asking about mine (that rainbowy finish that’s already wearing off by just looking at it), and figured I’d gift one and wth keep one for myself.

Different variations are different prices, so maybe the discount is fixed and just deducted from the base price, so the more expensive b&w would cost more than the cheaper green’n’yellow.

I could do without the “flashlight” and just have a marginally bigger battery-pouch inside, but hey, I’ll take it. :smiley_cat:
