If you hate Sofirn so much then why even bother to comment?
Are you going to offer anything or are you just going to continually moan on every Sofirn related thread. Tons of other brands out there to satisfy your needs
Sofirn offers quality and a great price point. If you want to spend less and suffer performance, head to a big box store. If you want to spend more or are particular about specs, durability and possibly build quality, there are other brands out there for you.
I have a number of Sofirn lights and I am quite happy with them. I’ve gifted or recommended them to family and friends and everyone has been surprised by what they offer.
Dumping on the brand serves no purpose unless that’s how you get your kicks.
Getting back on subject… I wonder if sofirn would ever offer SC31 pro with LH351D rather than SST-40. I’d rather sacrifice a few short-lived turbo lumens for better cri and tint. Wurkkos FC11 has that option but you don’t get Anduril.
More nitpicking: the ’31pro could be shorter. The IF25 uses a 27100, has usb-c, and is still shorter than the ’31pro. I’d like to see either a slimmer IF25 or a shorter SC31.
The SC31 Pro is 1/2” longer but I’m pretty sure it HAS to be… due to heat sinking requirements. I have some time behind both these lights and have found setting a ramping limit is easier than burning my hand
They are both really sweet, bright and pretty long throwing lights… for about 90 seconds (WHEN on full turbo!). But if the SC31 Pro was shorter even more heat would have to go into your hand.
If anything, I’d ADD mass to the IF25a so it could run full turbo for longer (and throttle back LESS after heating up).
And with the SC31 Pro, I’d put a regulated driver in that puppy (with Anduril still) and instead of super hot turbo (for a few minutes before it heads quickly down to 300 lumen continuous)… have it run for hours at closer to 500 lumens (of course I have no idea if any of this is doable, but I prefer my SP32aV2’s VERY close turbo with a higher sustained output using its regulated driver).
I A/B’ed the SC31 Pro in a 6.5k tint with my SP32aV2 5.7k tint last month (while reviewing another light). I honestly liked the SP’s lower tint and it ALMOST kept up with the SC in throw… at turn on. But after they both heated up (and throttled down), the SP held its own and the tint was better. It was as bright if not brighter than the SC after about 3 minutes (and then it will stay that bright as it’s regulated).
All cool lights, some just do different things better than others do. Choose you poison and have fun!
Sofirn
please made C01S 3 modes bright sublumen 2700k.
And an headlamp AA with Red Led.
Imporove the finishes of your lights,no more sharp edges/laynard hole
and pineapple knurling
It’s ugly.
Would be nice also a customization as Convoy do
The SC31 Pro is well built but the heat fins edges are sharp and the anodizing is showing wear on those edges. Also, the glue used in the bezel is strong enough that I’m unable to unscrew the head without special tools.
How about we get some movement on the rotary tube light djozz is collecting interest in. Considering the sc31 can be 80% recycled for this light and the SD05 already exists with a mag ring ui, why the reservation in making this a reality? With the popularity of low lumen C01x lights here there’s no reason a 500 lumen light won’t sell heavily, especially if it uses 7135s that can be stacked for the modders here.
