I just received my RGB button version of the D1. I am curious how you change the brightness settings for the button while ON. I have the button set to low when off, but when I turn it on even at level 3 it is full brightness on the button and quite annoying. Cant seem to find any documentation suggesting this is controllable. However I have other torches that only shift to high when ramped above a certain point, that is the behavior I prefer.
Don't know about the RGB, but the normal version is doing it as you described, when set to low aux.
Meaby the problem is that it's controled as front aux led, not as button aux?
You would have to look in the code to see. From what I know, there shouldn't be a way to disable it, or control the brightness, from the UI.
I appreciate it, unfortunately this is for OFF and LOCKOUT modes only, there doesn’t seem to be a control over the ON settings. Making moonlight effectively awful with the button being much brighter than the emitter at low levels. I am sure we will be able to update this in the future, but for now bummer.
Sorry you are unable to change the button brightness
I read a little further down the page
line 384 of the manual says:
“For lights with a button LED, the button LED typically stays on while
the main emitters are on. Its brightness level is set in a way which
mirrors the main LED — off, low, or high.”
but it does not sound like you can change that…
I would look for someone with Anduril skills, that can edit the Hex File to turn off button LED when main LED are on, and reflash the firmware for you…
gchart recently did that for the Wurkkos TS10 firmware
Unfortunately this is only a statement of expected behavior, and not access to settings.
“For lights with a button LED, the button LED typically stays on while
the main emitters are on. Its brightness level is set in a way which
mirrors the main LED — off, low, or high.”
This describes the behavior I wish to see, however it comes on High brightness while the main emitter is on low level. In this way it is not behaving like my other Anduril torches which match this description.
good info, thank you as always
fwiw, I notice that on my D3AA the button brightness changes at about 20 lumen output
but on my Sofirn SC21 Pro the button gets bright at about 100 lumens…
I like the change in brightness at about 100 lumens, better, than at 20 lumens.
