I’m trying to decide between a D1K/SFT40 and a M21A/SFT40.
Does anyone have a link to such a video?

I don’t have a video, but I have some ideas…
The D1K looks like a much nicer flashlight.
The D1K has a head diameter of 35mm, and the M21A has a head diameter of 44.5mm, so the Convoy should throw quite a bit further.

This is what I was worried about, the head isn’t very large.
I was originally thinking it was like an Anduril M21A but then I saw the size of the head and got worried I’d lose a bunch of throw.

I found a SuperDeal on the Sofirn IF22A with battery that I couldn’t pass up.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing.
I bought a IF22A on Amazon 2 years ago for my son and it was around $50.
@ $18 it lost some of it’s wonder.
Size comparison of an m21a and a d1k
Much narrower beam in the convoy but there’s a significant size difference.
I like my C8+ sft40. Same reflector as the m21a but easier to carry

You notice the weight difference the most, it’s nearly half the weight of the m21a. For my linear and boost d1k’s I got 91.5g and 93.8g respectively, both with a magnet in the tailcap. I got 177g for that particular m21a, which is not in a configuration that convoy sells but it’s probably roughly the same.
The convoy is the better thrower though of course. I’m a huge fan of those reflectors. Much narrower beam. Less artifacts too.

I currently own and love my M21A/B35AM.
I’m 6’4" and the C8+ feels like a toy in my hands.
I’ve built 2 M21A/SFT40 and a C8+/SFT40 for others in the past.
I really like the beam the M21A and C8+ paired with a SFT40 create.
Since I already have a M21A and Z1/SFT40 in the drawer by my back door, I haven’t been in a rush to purchase a M21A/SFT40 for myself.
I really like the look of the D1K but I’m gonna pass on it for now because I wanted a thowier beam.
Also, I’ve been wanting to check out the beam profile of the IF22A for like 2 years now and now I have 1 on the way.
Good price. I think that mightve been the first sofirn I ever bought.
Damn, an sft40 on an mcpcb is like $8.
I went back in my AliExpress history and checked. It was actually the 3rd sofirn I bought, and I paid $31.27 at the time

Yeah, I’ve paid $10 for a SFT40 on a MCPCB multiple times.
I figured if I hate the light, I can just swap out the SFT40 for a SST40 and sell it.
The IF22A showed up today and I’m pretty happy with it.
