Any decent C8's with a remote switch?

I’m putting a batch of C8’s together for a friend (and his friends) that saw my Convoy C8 and wanted their own. Some of them are asking if I can get remote pressure switches for them. I know Convoy doesn’t have them, and I can’t find any for Thorfire either. Only ones I can find are for Ultrafire or generics. Do any of the quality C8’s have a matching remote switch?

Note 1: I’ll be building/modding, so I don’t care if the driver or emitter needs replaced.

Note 2: I know these switches introduce resistence and aren’t great for high currents. Would they be suitable for 3 amps?

Look for a quality remote switch that fits the tailcap. It’s essentially just the “guts” that have been swapped out.

I thought about swapping the guts of one, but then if they’d want to use the light normally (without the remote switch) they’d need both switches… which means I’d need to find a source for spare tailcaps :frowning:

The answer is NO, at least not any atm, even if you find something suitable it will be good for up
to 1.8-2 amps

That’s kinda what I was thinking, Mitko. We need something like this to come to fruition!

I suppose you could ask Simon if he’d be willing to consider selling either those or just replacement tailcaps in “host” form without the switch guts.

Still a momentary remote switch just in the tailcap will only work if you got only 1 mode on the driver

Momentary tailswitches like from Nitecore work with forward clicky lights with separate mode button

I did a board with a FET to eliminate the extra resistance from the external switch

I use a FET with a low gate voltage which gets full output down to 1.8V

The FET is powered by a CR1225 Lithium battery with 36mAh should run easily hundreds of hours on
