I’ve always liked how each thread listed both ‘Total Posts’ along with any ‘New Posts’, is that gone now with only Total Posts showing?
EDIT: Nevermind, I see how new posts are highlighted.

I propose the old site stay up in read only mode maybe under a different domain like oldbudgetlightforum.com
The great philosopher Kylo Ren from my country said:
Let the past die. Kill it if you have to.
Kylo Ren was one of the wise men. We should heed his teachings.
The Great Bort says:
Don’t overcomplicate your life with extraneous junk.
I know SB did this for security reasons but its still a headache and a half.
If we can skin it to remove the over complicated frills i would be all for it.
Some of the new features are actually quite nice but the layout/design is terrible.
I love this new format so far, even though i dont know how to use it mostly. Change is hard, i have only been here a couple years, i understand if youve been here longer and hate the change, but IMO this is going to be a good thing!
Not only will it be easier for all of us over time as we learn to use it more efficiently, but it will most definitely bring new members here bc of a more desirable “up to date” set of features. Plus navigating with the phone is SO much easier.
It takes time. Change is hard (for some, sometimes).
I am optimistic, and will be reading many explanations from the people here that are smarter then me, about how to use this new layout!
Thanks!
EDIT: its still better then CPF, imho ![]()
Took some time playing around with the site and learning where everything is (e.g. watching/tracking threads, etc.)
I like the change so far; it’s now readable on a phone (don’t need to scroll sideways to read).
If you’re still having trouble adapting then may I suggest the book “Who moved my cheese?” ![]()
YES! I hate to say it, bc I am not a “techy” person, but the EASE of using reddit on my phone, is what ultimately drew me in over the last 1-2 years. I never liked reddit more, and I missed the content here., but with my job changing and having much less time to sit at my computer, i needed a platform to get my flashlight fix that was also EASY to navigate on the phone. reddit was that, and i got dragged in.
I feel like this new format will be fantastic, for me! I am excited!

That’s a positive they worked. Couldn’t use my own emoticons on the other version.
One feature i do love about this new software, it tells me my made up domain name has been clicked on twice ![]()
Did anyone figure this out?
Too bad their site is for the birds though
Right, and I still have a lot of work to do to order the categories similar to how they were before. But they’re all still there and the posts are where they’re supposed to be.
It’s there, I just changed mine - be sure to click ‘save’ though ![]()
The subscribed topics could not be imported. However, you can get pretty close with the advanced search feature (hamburger button in the search icon). For example, this basically shows me a list of my previously subscribed posts, since it automatically subscribed me to the threads I posted in:
There are quite a few other useful options and filters there in the advanced search function, and note that it also works for searching PMs too.
Hey @G0OSE glad you made it!
LOL! I was thinking I wouldn’t! Thanks mate, appreciate it! ![]()

Well, I also subscribed to some I didn’t post in. Even if they couldn’t be imported, could we just get a list so I can go hunt them down? If I’d had the foresight, I would’ve taken a screenshot…
Yes, I can set that up for a period of time. I’m swamped with a ton of little issues with password reset emails and getting users logged in again here, but I’ll try to get on that ASAP.
As far as I can tell, the old “subscriptions” are now “tracking” or “watching”. You can enable these (at least on mobile) by a dropdown on the bottom left once you scroll to the bottom of the thread.
I’ve also found a way to view all tracked or watched by going to Preferences → Categories.
I wonder if there’s an easier way to get to the tracking and watched lists? I guess I can bookmark these URLs:
Hi there @quahog , how about this?
