i have flashlights cluttering the house and naturally, all my grandchildren are fascinated, however, i can not allow them to play with any since the risk to their eyesight is too great. are there any lights out there that are either very low lumens (fixed) are can any of our other lights capable of being locked down to just a low lumen level. i would really enjoy having a rack of lights for the grandkids to play are not plastic pos!
I hear you. A nice simple light.
I retrofitted some old AA maglites with LED bulbs and clicky buttons on the tail - they seem to be a hit. The Olight i3e is also not bad.
I’d like to find a bright but not too bright single click light still - perhaps a Convoy S2 that is not too heavily driven.
May not be exactly what you’re looking for…but I bought both of my kids a Lumintop worm. Cool little, metal, AAA, twisty 3 mode (I think) light with GITD ring under the lens. 120 lumen max. Available in several colors. The one i got my kids came with a pocket clip and maybe the chain/clip too…but not sure about that.

My Grandkids have Thrunite TiS —they work great(several fun colors) — also the Lumintop ED01 is good —were cheap last week with Vipon— I’ve found the long Olight Lanyards work great for neck lanyards for them outside
Sofirn C01 are AAA flashlights, twisty head with low output!
Recently I offered one to a friend’s daughter (6 or 7 yo) that already loves flashlights! I guess that would be a good option!
If you prefer clicky lights, maybe the BLF 348 style lights are a good choice.
