Ever since the Arkfield came out it seems like there’s a new slim style pocket carry light coming out and all of them seem to be stuffing more stuff into the light either a UV, a laser a side light etc and I don’t want or really need any of those things. It’s hard to keep track of all the lights coming out.
What I’d love is a simple slim light with a single LED that puts out decent lumens but has a nice 4000-5000K tint, high CRI and a good UI.
My ideal would be a Arkfield that does that but uses the rotary dial thing to select modes because I selectors like that.
Does anything like that exist yet? I know the Streamlights are single LED but they have a weird/bad UI, bad tint, and bad mode spacing.
I’m kinda looking for something like that too. Partially cause I like those oled screens like on the new nitecore edc29. I like almost everything about it besides, the led choice/tint choice, waterproofing rating, drop rating
What I do like:
Looks great
Mechanical lockout switch on the side
Runtime mostly on the 100 lumen mode, although I could always use more runtime, perhaps they could have used a nice copper heatsink in the front. I’m not worried about the light being slightly unbalanced.
If they could fix those things and put some Nichia 519a in 4500k tint, that would be perfect.
I’ve been looking for that exact thing and I don’t think it’s one the market. The Arlene’s and Wurkkos HD01 have bad tints and include the crap you don’t want. However, I will say, you want the green laser but you just don’t know it yet. The green laser on the Wurkkos HD01 is insanely powerful. It goes farther than super higher end green dot lasers for guns.
