I’ve bought these Sony CycleEnergy 900/850 mAh (typical/minimum) AAA batteries, and based on the package text, they seem to be the low self-discharge, but I’m not sure. From what I’ve read, LSD batteries are usually advertised as “pre-charged”, “ready-to-use” or some similar marketing title. Here is an image of this battery pack:
According to the ad description from the online store where I bought them from, they are expected to hold 75% of maximum charge after one year, and should last around 300-500 charging cycles after full discharge. I’m aware that Eneloop batteries are the best NiMH available on the market, both in terms of self-discharge rate and # of cycles. Unfortunately, they have a prohibitive cost in my country, and I can’t find them from a trustworthy seller anywhere either. It means the chance of buying counterfeit Eneloop batteries are pretty high. Thanks in advance.
it says “precharged” in the upper right hand corner of the package in the photo
these on an Adorama ad (discontinued but the description is still there) appear to be the same or very similar, and actually says in the description “low self discharge” - I would presume they are low self discharge…
I think 75% of full charge after a year would be low self discharge.
Does that sound like it is long enough for what you plan on using these for?
I have Eneloops and Energizer NiMH. The energizer hold a charge well, though probably not as well as the Eneloops. But they may have more power, too. Eneloops don’t have quite as many mAh, at least when I got them they didnt.
A wild fellow Brazilian appears! I’m from Fortaleza. Are you sure it’s worth to import these Philips batteries? The pack with 4xAAA batteries is available anywhere here and for reasonable prices. I didn’t buy them just because they don’t look like to be the low self-discharge type, unlike this Sony pack.
Guys, just posting here to say these batteries are the real deal. The product code is NH-AAA-B4GN.They are indeed the LSD type, and are rated to hold 75% of charge after one year if stored fully charged at 20 °C. They are expected to support 500 charging cycles. While it’s no Eneloop LSD, they are not bad for the price I’ve paid.
By the way, I found out there is another AAA LSD pack, holding 800/750 (typical/minimum) mAh and supporting 1000 cycles, whose product code is NH-AAA-B4KN.The package is pretty much the same from the image I posted. however, they aren’t available anywhere.
