Hey all,
i was wondering if there is a Member of Astrolux or Mateminco in this Forum where i could suggest a 3x 18650 Flashlight.
Because there is:
MF01 Mini
and MF01S
but a MF01 Medium with 3x18650 would be awesome. With the look of the MF01s but just slighty smaller with for example 9x leds. Maybe something of the size like Rot66 ?
what do you guys think about this?
anyway i dont know where i can suggest this.

Can’t really see the point in this and the MF01S. Far too similar sized IMO.

i would appreciate this, too. But the optic should not be 67mm and 12 LED’s maybe there is something with 9 Leds and throw something in the size betweed Mini and MF01S
If Astrolux would add a Medium Sized MF01, it would be something matching for everyone in the MF01 Family.
but i think a rot66 or emisar d18 sized Astrolux could be the middle version between MF01S and MF01 Mini.
The MF01S is too big for my wife and the Mini is not shiny enough compared to the MF01S. And we like Astrolux… we can use the 18650 protected Cells from Acebeam and Imalent with them. how the idea was born. So a MF01 Medium with 8-11k Lumen depending on throw/LED Type would be the right spot in the middle.

An 18650 is likely massively holding back a MF01 MINI.
The thing is, less LEDs normally means bigger ones. So you may not end up with more throw if you still go multi emitter. Because instead of SST-20’s like the MINI, people will want XHP50’s…. you might even end up with less throw for a given lumen output.
TBH if you want some distance, it sounds like a single LED might work better for you. Maybe the Astrolux EA01. I have the SST-40 version and I’ve found it to be one of the most versatile beam profiles in my collection. The XHP50.2 version will offer more flood if you still want that and more throw than the MF01 MINI for most output levels I daresay.

I bought the ea01 aswell as my edc with the xhp50.2 version.
I dont want a real thrower i like the hybrid fellas as the mf01s is. Astrolux ea01 with xhp50. 2 has also the right mix for me.
I thought about the 9x sst20 because you may end up with 400-500 throw and nice flood if the reflector is similar to the mini or mf01s.
I would not be mad if there would be a 3x 18650 with a single or quad 50.2 with a matching reflector for some range as i saw it on the haikelite hk04 but from Astrolux

I would buy a couple of your proposed light. I am a huge astrolux fan (i feel people love em or hate em here? maybe not), and i have the mf01 mini and its one of my favorites for the size (i also have both EA01 emitter lights too, their great as well) and i don’t have the mf01s because of the large size. I do have the Hakelite HK04 (sst40) and it is an AWESOME light for the size and price. I really prefer 3x18650 over the 4. i actually just sold my only 4x18650 light (mf02s) because of the size i almost never used it. Plus, your proposed medi could have usbc charging like the mf01 mini and the hakelite hk04 bc im pretty sure the mf01s does not, right?
I think more people then expected would buy the new “medi” 3x18650 MF01.
I mean look at what Lumintop did with the BLF GT family… Anyone here who says there isn’t enough difference between the mf01s and a new 3x18650 version i think underestimates the desires of the fanatics, sorry, enthusiasts, in this community

I would sell my haikelite for a mf01 medi or whatever they gonna call it if they invent such a light.
I got the mf01s and the haikelite hk04 in comparison. And the mf01s is alot brighter
But the haikelite mf01 mini is close zo the haikelite hk04. So i would sell the haikelite before i leave the mf01s. Anyway i know that there are alot of 3x18650 sized soda can fans and astrolux just dodged this size so far. I hope someone of the astrolux/mateminco company is here to see this.

Hybrid like mf01s and mf01 mini. Throw and some spill
3x 18650 size of course (protected should fit aswell)
Usb c charger instead of 1/4 screw
4000, 5000 and 6500k tint availability
Size between mf01s and mf01 mini height couls be the same as mf01s i wouldn’t care
In short: a 3x 18650 version of the mf01 mini
