Astrolux S1 A17DD-L FET+1 driver max current..

Hello.
I recently bought one A17 DD-L FET+! driver at banggood.com
(Link: Astrolux S1/BLF A6 A17DD-L FET+1 2,8-4,35v 7/4-Modi-Taschenlampen-Treiber-Taschenlampenzubehör Sale - Banggood Deutschland-arrival notice-arrival notice)

I set it on my modding plan.
Triple XP-E2 Torch LED with Copper heatsink.

However it’s max current is about 2600mA only.
This is measured by tail cap current with LG HG2 3000mAh unprotected cell.

Below are more detail current. (4 mode)
Low 20mA, Med 300mA High 930mA Turbo 2600mA

I expected more than 4A tailcap current, but it doesn’t.

What problem with my driver? If you anyone who know about it, please tell me.

Thanks.
Kim.

Did you do a spring bypass ? Do you have good leads on your meter ?

Yes I bypassed spring by copper solder wick. Also I used 0.5㎟ wire between circuit and led.
And I think my multi meter is well work. Because I check same LG HG2 3000mAh battery with my 3000mA linear circuit. And it shows about 3000mA tail cap current.

I’ve been using these drivers testing with clamp meter xpg2 triple on noctigon 8.5 amps on efest 18500 (no spring)

and xplhi on noctigon 5.5amps tested with clamp meter at tail cap std spring king kong 26650

are you sure you are getting into turbo ?

Thank you for reply.
I used Vichy VC99 multimeter.

Turbo mode is normally locked? I run lights over 30 seconds and it step town by 30 second turbo timer.

Using standard multi meter leads?
Check out Djozz’ test here.

Wow!
I didn’t know about that test!
I think my measurement way is wrong or my lead wire of multi meter can not take high current.

I will test second way of djozz did.

Thank you for your reply.

Kim.

I have no interest in a paperweight after only one hour. .

I see amc7135 x8 lights as glories 25 ohm variable resistors. Mathematically 75% efficient at 350 ma with 2.7 fw voltage in average 3.7 v cell. . People claiming higher, are running 2 amps where fw voltage is 3.2 fV. . Then an led driven at 2 amps pwm down to 300 ma is 75 percent as efficient or bright as a pot. . Then cutout OS at 3.3 v, leaving 25% left on a Panasonic 3400, since fV is 3.2 at 2.4 amp pwm. . No wonder my single cell AMC lights have a third the runtime of my 2x18650 buck switching driver lights. . Then those poor amc7135 clusters cook, not getting their needed 5 cubic cm per AMC.

This driver may be better. . Only one amc7135 is good. . Maybe the lower modes aren’t current slamming, less efficient pwm ed. So, I am dying to know, what the tail cap readings are on the lower mode.

FET, is just a transistor strobe. Leds don’t put put full efficiency at higher current even if ice cooled.

So. This is why I need to know the lower tail cap currents. . The 50 percent says nothing. 50 percent of 350ma or bare back fet on led?
