Astrolux S1, Convoy S2 / S3 Differences In Throw ???

Does anyone happen to have compared any of the above against each other, whilst not looking for a dedicated thrower like a Nitecore MH20GT I’d chose one with more throw than flood.

I left out the Convoy S2+ as I believe the S2 has quite a deeper reflector and quite a bit more throw in comparison, I’d be really interested how the S3 compares as it’s slightly shorter which would again be my preferred but not if it’s more floody.

Also the shorter tube for 18350’s is listed for the S2+ but not the S2 or S3 … does anyone know if it’s compatible with the other 2 or will it only work with the S2+???

I owned a S2 and S2+ the tubes are compatible, just the head is different

I am sure for S3 the tube and switch section uses the same threads

I’ll be curious as well between the Astrolux S1 and the Convoy S2(+).

Did you notice if there was much difference in the throw between the 2???

Thought I’d bump this in case anyone else had any input they could add???

The convoy is a nicer host then the S1 and the reflector is deeper so it will throw better as well.

Although throw really depends on the LED you pick. None of them will be very throwy with an XM-L2.

The best throwing tube light I have is an S2+ With an XP-L HI and TIR optic., the S2 reflector is very close in throw though but I prefer the TIR for distance, it has a larger hot spot and just seems to reach further.

If you really want a reflector the best throwing reflector I testing IIRC was actually the S6 reflector. It fits in the S2 and I prefer the S2 host over the S6.
