ATX to desktop powersupply NO MOD drop in module

In case the other thread drifts away

Just came across this…no need to mod the powersupply…plug and play

Don’t let the name fool you

Even a nifty acrylic case

Only issue I see is the 1.25A polyfuse on the 12vdc and 5vdc rail…not alot of current when the ATX powersupply is capable of pushing dozens or more amps on those rails alone…might jumper them for full current flow…but you loose the fuse protection then

That looks awfully convenient. If only there was a kit that made putting a pair of DPS-600PB server power supplies in series so simple.

not drop in but break out… :stuck_out_tongue:

Need that now for testing used car radios.

That help?

I bet it will. I'll try modding the first one this week, and then see about ordering more to make a 24V power supply. This is the link I had before. I think you provided that one too.

Hmm, I was planning on converting an old PSU to power my chargers that all require 12v, and especially for my opus that might do better with a powersupply that is capable of delivering more amps than the original one.
But I’m a bit afraid to do it and end with something dangerous. This would be a solution, although with only 5A fuse it might not cut it since I’ve read the opus does best with a supply capable of 10A.
And I assume it’s not a wise thing to just put different fuses in it .
