Aliexpress site says in stock and will take money. What that means, i don’t know. And when i asked if the light is 2 mode the answer returned was “hello not available at the moment” this was either something lost in translation or bad sign or both.
I did successfully pay moneys though!? And of two listings one said 0 sold and the other said 15 sold.
Is this the start of a trickle? If say the 4.99 is a place holder/ baitnswich. The live link is 8.99.
I was going to ask here if this version is confirmed 2 mode. Hopefully it’s something better than an e01 fenix (because of 2 modes)…
I’ll just give my own interpretation for the original Sofirn C01 = this is a “low-lumens” flashlight (only around 6-8 lumens max), I suppose they didn’t do a 2-mode (1 lumen + 6 or 8 lumens since the difference won’t be big). In some test, applying more power to the 5mm LED will increase power consumption significantly (means shorter runtime), but won’t get much brightness anyway, since the LED used is not for high brightness anyway.
So the C01’s purpose is a bit different than the C01S/C01R. C01 is designed to be a ‘survival/vampire’ light that uses little power, and can use AAA batteries that are considered “spent up” by other flashlights but will still work with the C01, just to produce the little amount of light…
I’m confused, which C01 misses that sealing?? By design the C01 it has a o-ring around the led that sits in a groove in the head. Did they not add that o-ring now?
I’ve had to open a C01 from the initial batch since the epoxy ran out of the head. There was no o-ring for sure. Of course, it could have been missed out of error; checked only one light.
To be honest, I did not follow this thread as closely all the time. I came back here when Barry told me some news about C01 deep red 670nm. Anyway, I asked Barry again. He said Sofirn has prepared a matching quantity of 5,000 pcs for hosts and LEDs (I guess Sophia + 670nm will be counted in this total amount). He said he would not know what to do with the residual emitters if Sofirn produced some hosts without emitters at the end of the production run. It seems they do not plan to produce more shells and drivers for C01 just to fulfill another 200 hosts. Sorry for not having better news for you guys.
