yes, used 18AWG to bridge tailcap, took off the extension tube and tried again. Finally, I used a bench power supply to test driver directly. Nothing.

Googled this model and found out there was apparently a case of a faulty batch in the German market and there was a forum mentioning tons of similar faults across this model. All of this took way too much time for a new flashlight.

Thanks for the HUGE giveaway. I'll have to go with my Z5. I absolutely never use this. It was my first light as well. Plus, I think it has to be the ugliest light ever designed.

stopped using my maglite. The switch was not reliable on this one and a replacement wasnā€™t worth it. Bought a Ultrafire on amazon and that was good enough.

i think i actually paid for it, in a wallbuys crazy sale. might have been 3-modes and small that made me buy it. crappy crappy crappy, and unmoddableā€¦

Totally forgot I was supposed to do a draw. Here we go, the numbers that come out correspond to postnumbers at the moment of the draw, even if any postnumbers change thereafter (i.e. caused by deleted posts) :

LOL, had to draw three times. First draw was 22, which was MRsDNF, who was not in (sorry Steve), second draw was 82, which was my post, finally third was 40, which I decide is a valid entry, even though he posted his most loved light instead of his least loved light :party:

I sent the package! I mention it here because I'm proud of myself, usually I'm late with such things :-) I could not help repairing and doing a little fun mod with the orange Suterfire (it was completely wrecked before) with an ancient led I had in the spare leds box. I hope it arrives in Malaysia eventually!!

The postman was about to toss this box into my house. Luckily my neighbor was there to pick it from him.
Turns out the fragile sticker was inside the box. No idea what happened during shipping.

The paper bag was torn open by customs and they decided to stuff the lights back into a new box and tucking the paper bag on the top of the bag with some white cardboard box as well.
