Banggood selling fake Nitecore charger? confirmed by Nitecore's website, if it's working.

Not had chance yet. I realise Sunday is nearly over for you, but just started here.

To be honest from the conversation I had with Nitecore UK I fully expect it to be genuine. Which would be a little ironic as the other thread that was started to mock this has now become a serious thread due to the fact that some of the people that were having a go here, have now found out they may have fake Nitecore chargers.

The only problem with that thread is the title is misleading.

Marc.

must be hard taking out some screws.

can’t wait for tear down to happen.

Not really, easy enough to do.

Are Fasttech Nitecore D2 genuine with Uk plug price $20.23 with blf code or Banggood price $19.14 with air post so do I buy from FastTech or Banggood

BUMP!!

Your guess is as good as mine. Nitecore UK says he is not aware of any fakes, but not 100% sure. I partly took mine apart and did see Nitecore on some caps, but then someone said his D4 didn’t have Nitecore caps. What I do know is mine won’t charge AAAs, no idea why. Everything else OK.

Marc.

So the Nightcore caps proves you have a genuine Nightcore - are you going to change the misleading thread title?

Scrap it and use disposable batteries in all your flashlights.

Nitecore caps.

Nitecore do not make capacitors, they may rebrand some caps, but it makes the charger more expensive.

I do not remember seeing any Nitecore caps in my tear down of the i4 (I got the charger directly from NiteCore).

Here is a link to Nightcore's Identification Guide

http://www.nitecore.com/newsDetail.aspx?id=367

Where they show a couple of ways to check for genuine Nightcore product, and it shows internal pictures of a charger where you can see the Nightcore Capacitors, and then they say "The capacitors of legitimate Nitecore chargers are developed by Nitecore and labeled with Nitecore trademark."

I do notice they are careful not to say the apacitors are "Made by Nightcore".

They may be able to get their own wrappers on a capacitors, but I doubt they can do anything about development of them and that there is a need for that. You get the best capacitors from the big brands, the cheap Chinese brands has considerable lower quality and lower price.

For advertisement it looks good to show a charger with Nitecore branded caps, but that does not mean every charger uses that. I would not even could that as a quality improvement. Using a known good brand is the best (But beware of fakes), using a known low quality brand is bad. Using you own brand can be either, depending on where you get it manufactured.

Someone did mention that his D4 didn’t have Nitecore branded caps.

Thanks for the info,

Marc.

So are we ready to admit that while they make good chargers, they make piss poor systems of validation?

I have never disagreed with the validation system being suspect, that became apparent quite early in the thread. They also have zero customer service.

As for the charger it charges 18650s fine, AAs fine, but doesn’t want to know AAAs. Don’t know why.

Marc.

I also had problems with the validation system. Also - the D4 did not operate properly and I sent it back to Amazon. Nitecore was completely unresponsive to my emails detailing the charger behavior. I’m keeping the Nitecore 18650 cells that I purchased with the charger but can find no reason to buy anything else with their name on it.

I’m just describing my own experience with Nitecore, that’s all.

I have taken a lot of stick over the title of my thread, truth is I have been a part of BLF for some time now and though I would bring to peoples attention the fact that my charger failed what appeared to be a simple validation test. I do understand the validation system may well be rubbish, but I wanted it to be discussed as any other topic would be, because weather or not my charger is fake there will be fakes in the near future.

The post above from Richard is the kind of post I was hoping the thread would be full of, info and peoples experiences. What I have gathered is that Nitecore have poor CS and like Richard, I too will not buy any more products from them.

Please keep this thread clean and keep the info coming,

Marc.

Just received a I4 bought on eBay and tried the validation code 3 times, the first time it said code Valid, after that it kept saying code invalid.

Isn’t that normal? Otherwise they would keep printing the same code over and over.

My bad. I will edit immediately. I didn’t read the date of post. Actually I will delete my post.

Ignore the headline. It’s misleading, but only the guy who wrote it can correct the text.
