Does it work?
I usually remove the driver wires and replace them with my 22awg silicone wires just to be safe.
That big blob of solder where the + lead should be doesn’t look good.
Just a wire missing….no big deal. I Order Tons of stuff from BG since years and never had to file a dispute on PayPal….the drivers are cheap if you want a nice one pay more and order from RMM…I have a few and they look cheap but they work good.
A email or three and they offer resend/refund. I would always choose refund and reorder myself…
I ordered one of those recently as well. Got it about a week ago. It had both wires, but I haven’t installed it so I don’t know if it works. Here’s a picture of the one I got:
Got three of those - all are fine. What a driver for the price!
For perfection go to RMM, as mentioned above.
> I emailed customer service and got the usual “Please close Paypal Claim and we resend”
So before you’ve even tried to solve the issue with Banggood, you have already made a complaint via Paypal?
I have to admit I wasn’t too impressed with the build quality when I received mine, but they do seem to work OK.
I guess they look cheap because they are cheap. Can’t grumble with the value for money.
I also noticed they changed the layout slightly at some point in the production run (R1):
The layout was changed with the Kronos groupbuy. You will notice in the OP the board also has pads for a tailcap bleeder resistor, whereas the originals did not.
They’re a bit janky but with some work they seem to be OK.
Crap, I also ordered several of those drivers, did not get them yet!…
Is that the pad marked PIN3 on the spring side? I wondered what that was for.
No, it’s the one marked R3 (all you can see is the 3) on the top, right next to the LED+ wire pad
Banggood can be hit and miss.
I have had some good experiences with them with my Nightcore flashlights, but then I ordered a Klarus C8 charger and it arrived without a power brick. I emailed them, they didn’t respond for 2 weeks so I had to lodge a Paypal dispute which they rejected and said “email us”!
Seriously complaining about a $6 driver before you tested it?
If you want it perfect, order from RMM and pay more. Otherwise don’t expect something expertly crafted for half price and free shipping.
Ahh I see it now, thanks. Any idea what the pad on the spring side is for?
I see no solder bridge. Maybe you should make a picture with more light so that it gets a bit sharper… The only thing I see is something between c1 and the diode, but I can’t recognize if that is just a bit dirt or what…
C1 is right between - and + so it share the same pad as the +wire. No wrong connection there just a ugly solderspot and a missing wire.
Initially it was going to be a “star” to solder to trigger memory or something, but I don’t think it was used because TK put that in the firmware.

Ahh, mystery solved. Thanks.
