Baseball cap compatible flashlight recommendations?

Here are my requirements:

  1. Can attach to a baseball cap with a clip
  2. Easy to turn on/off while attached to the cap
  3. Can deliver at least 300 lumens for 1 hour
  4. Balanced beam... somewhere between floody and throwy
  5. Lightweight
  6. Under $30

I'm currently using a DQG Tiny 4th, but it's a bit too heavy for a cap. I want something lighter.

Klarus XT1C maybe, but the beam pattern might be too throwy for walking? what else would you recommend? Dont care about battery type.

Another one I came across... On The Road M3? Looks like the mid mode can run for 1 hour, but not sure of light output.

I use my On The Road M3 with a baseball cap often, works well and not too heavy.

It is pretty nice and very lightweight.

OTR M3 is a nice light, be aware it’s mostly a floody beam

Just got my first M3, think its 5C too. I like the light for the money. Good deals on them now.
Haven’t had it long enough to say it will run for an hour. But its small and light. UI is use able. I think you will like it.

Medium mode on the M3 is about 600ma, which should give 300 lumens from an XML2. Since the light comes with a 700mah cell, that should be about 1hr of runtime.

One other thing I realized is that there isn’t going to be a huge weight reduction going from DQG Tiny (86g) to OTR M3 (64g). To really get the weight down, I might have to accept lower output and consider something like Nitecore Tip 2017, as Venom mentioned.

Quick update on the M3, just to summarize how it stacks up against my original requirements...

Can attach to a baseball cap with a clip Check.
Easy to turn on/off while attached to the cap Check.
Can deliver at least 300 lumens for 1 hour Check. I get about 1hr 5min on Efest 700 v2 cell on medium.
Balanced beam... somewhere between floody and throwy It's closer to floody than throwy, but not bad.
Lightweight It weighs 58g including battery, so not exactly super light, but about 30% lighter than DQG Tiny 4th.
Under $30 Check.

All in all, I'm quite happy with this little light. The 5C tint is really nice. Quality seems good, and the UI is fine. The only minor gripe I have is with the clip - the way it's designed, it does not allow you to slide it all the way in on the cap's visor, so the light sticks out a little more than I'd like.

While I was waiting for the M3 to arrive, I managed to get my old Jetbeam Jet-1 MK attached to my cap using some velcro, and even though it's only rated at 150 lm, because the beam is more throwy, it worked pretty well for me. But I do prefer the warmer tint of the M3.

I have been using mine pretty regular. Had it on my hat brim while working under a car that was on a lift. It is a pretty good light IMO. Had t change batteries during use but it worked pretty well for what I needed. While it was on my brim, was kinda funny to see the red blinking on the SW button as the battery got low, then turned off. Saw the flashing red-ness and took a few seconds to figure it out.

I use a Nitecore TIP V2 for a headlamp currently - it’s the best light (spread, runtime, ease of use) I have had on my cap EVER. I find the Convoy S2+ too heavy, and any twisty is a pain to operate one-handed.
