Basen 26650 4500mAh Issue ?

Hmm, there really is a lot of irritation about the Basen 26650 4500mAh.

I´ll try a summary:

Meanwhile there seem to be at least two types of cells on sale (maybe three ?).

1. Cell coming in black box (yellow “Basen” imprint), about 95g, flat top (no contact used in series, Thanks to “Sprinkles”, I did not realize as I don´t ow a light using them in series yet) and capacity around 4900mAh.

2. Cell coming in white box, about 88g, raised flat top (giving contact used in series) and capacity around 4300mAh.

3. Cell coming in white box, about 88g, raised flat top (giving contact used in series) and capacity around 4700mAh.

I did retest my Basen with a better battery-holder (4-wire). In fact this gives much better cut-off voltage control to my Junsi charger by connecting the two extra wires to the balancer port and so provide the straight battery voltage to the charger. This definitely is an improvement and gives the chance to charge a battery to a very exact voltage (same on discharging). On the Junsi you can set up cut-off voltage manually. I calibrated it as well.

In the end the capacity values are pretty much the same as the ones I posted in #1.

Please post me if I forgot anything.

Regarding the difference between the 4300mAh cells and the 4700Ah cells, that may have been due to test protocols. See discussion here [link].
