What is high drain to you?
3A?
10A?
30A?
Per cell?
Regardless of cost?
custom made, put up a request and have some made for you to your liking, contact several reputable cell makers and offer them big cash to advance their R&D and make a super duper cell for you, lol
If that is out of your budget, then:
2) Universal up to 5A easily: LG D1 4.35V
5-10A: Samsung INR18650-29E = Panasonic PD = Panasonic PF
10A+: Samsung INR18650-25R
Panasonics A, B are only worth it if your run them at 1A or lower currents. They don’t handle well higher and will easily be beaten by LG D1.
yep! LG D1 is an excellent cell especially for single-cell flashlights. in this graph it allows the nitecore to stay in regulation longer, as well as higher brighness due to the higher voltage (but it shows how crappy nitecore’s drivers are)
Panasonic NCR18650B doesn’t have a flat voltage curve and it only attains 3400mah if you discharge down to 2.5v. so it’s best used for multiple cells in series
