As title all help very much appreciated, thanks.
Sorry folks, it is for high drain applications such as SRK and BTU shocker, currently I am using the panasonic NCR18650B, not sure if protected or not is best, they do extended run times, my BTU used to get hot and seem brighter but not so much now, unless I am just getting used to it.
Sorry for the confusion folks

Like others have mentioned what is the primary use of the battery. HKJ’s web site is invaluable for comparing different batteries at different current usage. http://lygte-info.dk/
Love the BLF members sense of humor. Keeps me from being depressed.
I don’t know If I can completely answer your question. I am sure there are many answers to your question. I can tell you what works really well for me.
My current EDC is Ultrafire WF-502B with a 4 mode driver running a very warm XM-L2 T4 7A tint led.
It has firefly mode which I use as my nightlight. High is more than bright enough to walk around in completely dark environments outdoors. I intentionally chose a very warm tint because its easier on my eyes. You can choose cooler tints if you wish. You can get the whole package shipped fast for less than $30 which is great. Specially since you get to choose all the little details. Her is a link where I got it from. (Mountain Electronics)
I am sure others can help you with less expensive or much more sophisticated options. This one work for me.
