Best budget light color temp meter

Hey guys. Was wondering if any of you have any experience with some of the light color meters out there. Most of them, like the Sekonic C-500, have a starting price somewhere over 1 grand. Definitely not budget at all and something I'll never be able to afford. There is one cheaper one, the TES-136 chroma meter, that I had looked at but I don't know how accurate it is compared to some of the more popular professional light meters. Was wondering if anyone had some experience with these and could offer some insight on which one is the best to buy. TIA!

Maybe there is some way to utilize a colour corrector for screens like this one: http://www.amazon.com/X-Rite-i1Display-Calibrator-Displays-Version/dp/B000JLO31M

Ive seen some of those but Im not sure whether they are calibrated for accurate reading for HID and halogen light sources. For LED's I dont see why they wont work but there may be something Im missing. It would seem professional photographers would be recommending those instead of a color temp meter since they are so much cheaper.

some low cost ones also

Just about all those cheap color meters are gonna be very inaccurate with LED's. To get the most accurate results youll have to use a meter thats specifically designed to measure the color temp of LED's and those are extremely expensive. Ive seen some reviews thats stated even the Sekonic C-500 cant accurately measure LEDs.
