Best C8 reflector for dedomed XML-2

I’m chasing a reflector for the above mentioned, edit, or similar size (l’m not restricted to C8 exact size). I have this reflector and the beam is woeful no matter how far in or out the reflector is positioned with different size isolators.

Also does anyone know whats happened to Fancy Flashlights as the 25th has well and truly passed. Manafont is another.

Bump.

TomE beefed up my XinTD C8 V4. The beam is quite perfect with a dedomed XML2

Thanks sesgum. I just need a reflector. Now where to get a XinTD C8 reflector?

Weird - pretty sure I've used and/or have that exact same reflector. That has been my favorite style for raw lumens, but for the best throw, comfy tipped me/us off that the XRE C8 reflectors are the best. I did some testing and confirmed that's true - loose some lumens but gains in kcd over the XML C8 reflector. Can't vouch for how "pretty" the beam is or isn't though...

Here, maybe? http://www.fasttech.com/products/1617/10007057/1575100-aluminum-alloy-smooth-reflector-for-cree-xr

Can't vouch for it. I did my tests using this light: http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10002761/1206100-ultrafire-c8-cree-q5-5-mode-250-lumen-white-led-fl

They said the 25th, but not which month.

Or year.

Thanks guys. I’ll order one and see how it goes.

I'm pretty new to the c8 modding thing, but I have build a few now, and found with two different smooth reflectors that when a dedomed led is used, the best focus is when the reflector is sitting flat on the led board with no spacer. And to get that low with the reflector I needed to screw out the pill a bit before screwing the head/reflector down. Of course you get in trouble with the solder joints, they need to be as flat as possible and on the very outside of the board.

Thanks djozz. I did try that also with the reflector I have. Its fine with a normal XML-2 but just terrible with the led dedomed. The led itself is in my DST which with that reflector is fine.
