I’m looking for the best options for a flashlight with either a dedicated strobe function button or an easy to access instant strobe function of some sort. I’ve had a Nitecore P12 for ages. It is very clunky and not easy to access. It does remember the last function, including strobe, but that is annoying to have to put in strobe mode before hand, especially when you can forget you’ve done so and you actually don’t want it to come on in strobe. No to mention getting it into strobe mode requires a press+hold of the “mode” button, which is located at the front/head of the light, is impossible to find even with a bare hand, and even more difficult to find/actuate without changing grips.
Other considerations I’d like; Bright (obviously), waterproof (ip68?), I like 18650 but might be open to something else, removable batter (again, I might be open to something else), it would probably be good if the dedicated strobe switch was located on the rear. Oh, and I’m fine with one of those “aggressive” bezel/head styles too, if you know what I mean?
Feel free to educate me, and include any useful information related to this topic. For example, are multi-frequency strobe effects really more beneficial than a single frequency strobe.
Price: I live in canada, and would like to stay around the $100 price point. But I doubt that is realistic, so don’t limit your suggestions based on that please.
(Note, and unrelated, aside from the P12, I own several Armytek multi/head-lamps).
