What is your opinion about the budget tactical flashlight of 2018?
The Fenix PD35 is my all time favorite flashlight. I love to use Klarus xt11gt flashlight as the tactical or outdoor use. But, These flashlights are not budget flashlight.
Streamlight and especially Surefire flashlight price is higher than any other brands. So, it is very difficult to find a quality tactical flashlight from a brand at a reasonable price.
I have J5 V1 pro tactical flashlight. Actually, I am loving it. Its prices only 12 bucks and function quiet rich.
Tactical flashlight features:
You cannot consider as tactical flashlight. Because, tactical flashlight should have some advanced features like: clicky switch, 2+ modes, hard anodized body, waterproof, could be used as blinding the attacker etc.
These types feature increased the overall cost of a flashlight. Thus, it is very difficult to find a tactical flashlight at a cheap price.
So, what is your favorite tactical flashlight for the money?
I have not found much under $15 tactical flashlights. If you have a name in your mind that you bought very price then what's the flashlight name?
P.S: I am flashlight lover and I am actively participating in this forum. However, I have a flashlight review related website and you will find my tactical flashlight guide blog here. I have added lots of product review articles, product images, testing images and some flashlight have video review too. I am updating my flashlight website almost everyday. You can visit my website to find the top ten budget tactical flashlights list.
Probably the Sofirn and thorfire lights that have gone on sale on Amazon for 10 to 13 dollars.
Can’t beat the deals on sale. Sometimes it’s just a 1000 lumen tactical light. Sometimes like a couple weeks back got the 1100 lumen sofirn sf36 for 10 dollars. Best price I’ve paid for a tactical light. And then after that it was like a sp something for 10 that camr with a battery and charger. And yesterday was the thorfire tk15. It’s still up on sale. Not going to get a tactical flashlight any better than those for the price. I prefer them over my nitecore p12gt which was 70 dollars. I’ll never pay anywhere near that again for a tube light
+1, -I got the SP31 with batt and charger for $10, then the SF36 in NW for $10.88, smoking deals. I think the SF36 in warm white is also still available on Amazon for like $15 with batt and charger.
The kinds of lights that mall-ninjas want, all adorned with “tactical” rings, clips, “attack bezels”, 50 modes and 13 types of strobe, and look like they were put together from a random assortment of plumbing parts… gimme a break. That’s “tacticool”, yecch.
To me, a true tactical light is one that’s simple, stoopit, and works. It should be hella bright, have a forward-clicky switch (ie, momentary-on), and is one mode, on/off only, so you don’t accidentally switch to moonlight or bike-strobe, and you could throw it against a brick wall and have it just still keep on working. And you shouldn’t even have to think about “modes” in a high-stress situation.
Keep a second light for poking around, but the true tactical light should be like a Ka-Bar, while you can still carry a Swiss Army Knife for useful stuff.
One of my Tac Lights still in daily use … Surefire Centurion host with GID Cerakote finish, sporting a single output Malkoff M61 SHO drop in with a McClicky forward momentary switch. Ultra dependable setup …
I think the Wowtac A1/A1S or the Sofirn SP31 come to mind, simply because they’re affordable and have forward-clicky on/off switches (that don’t affect selected mode).
I still really like my Wowtac A1 for that reason, even though I’ve got a ton of lights now that are brighter and technically better!
Malkoff, Elzetta, Surefire. Elzetta at the top for tactical, I am gonna kill you or you kill me use, then Surefire, then Malkoff.
That list on the website is a joke, let me use my twisty surefire titan and twist it 3 times to get 300 lumens that are as diffused as possible, while I am bleeding out. SMH. LOL.
