Any recommendations on a value purchase??!? Basically looking for a light to attach to my bow (2015 Obsession Evolution, Stormy Special Ops) or shotgun / rifle so when i hog hunt at night from tree climber i can light those bastards up. Here is what I’m currently contemplating, although the light doesn’t look that impressive.
You know you shouldn’t keep asking questions like this…. is better if you couldspend some time to read reviews and see what interests you more then post a question on which light is better for your applications. You might even get better suggestions. That way others will know what you’re really after… This is not a customer service sight afterall
thx wrathbringer. i ordered the olight m22 warrior $45 on gearbeast, then purchased the remote, filters and mount. fraction of the cost of the other kits and looks to be about same quality / functionality! hell yeah!!!
not sure about your second post, all my posts have been generously answered, and certainly no has to respond if they don’t want to!
Not a problem at all Was just a PSA! Anyways since there are lots of reviews around here there aren’t many questions to ask around here at least for me hehe… Decent choice BTW! If you did PM Karen from gearbest to provide you codes, you could have saved more hahaha at least by 20 to 30%!
Ok, almost went with the Nitecore hunting kits, but ended up with Olight b/c was able to piece all together for a fraction of the price and feel quality is equal.
Ok, here she is, LOVE IT!!! for the size and weight it has great throw and spill! for longer shots with rifle may have to figure out how to mount my Olight Mx3s-UT Javelot, but realistically this is perfect for bow / shotgun range.
I didn’t know how to attach the remote to my bow due to the bend in the handle and riser where my hand goes so i was forced to be creative, which usually ends in disaster, but worked out this time. I bought some velcro, took off one of the handles, cut a piece to fit into the groove, then put some on the back of the remote. perfect! and now i can easily transfer the light from my bow to my gun without dealing with zip ties. in fact, if i put velcro on every weapon / other item i need a remote at night for, this is a perfect solution.
deer season begins in williamsburg county next week, CFW!!!
Pitch the filters. True green leds and red leds are superior. Use the Search function and research some of the hunting light builds on this site. I have used Cree, Luxeon and Luminus color leds in some builds. Even have built solar powered feeder lights with up to 6 red leds that run 365 nights a year. I use a Direct Drive, PT54 red, mosfet switched, lifepo4 powered, 501b on my crossbow for hog hunting. Been using a Rebel deep red custom JacobA60 rifle mounted.
