Best(visual quality) flashlight at 2000K and 2700K?

From what I could understand, E21A 2000K is best for resembling candle light. 219b seems to be best for 2700K.

Am I right?

Btw, I only mean visual quality such as beam’s beauty and high cri. I don’t care about throw or brightness, I just wonder which light would give the best colors at these Kelvin.

Nov-MU 2000k with its diffuser cap and in candle mode might as well be a candle by your side.

Don’t forget about dedomed 519As. Dedomed 2700K results around 2200K, 3000K around 2400K, and 3500K around 2700K.

I have 2000K quad E17As and 2700K 219B flashlights too.

There’s a big difference between 2000K and 2200K, at least to me.

For 2700K, I have 3 flashlights: quad E17A, dedomed 519A, and 219B. All are great, but if I had to choose, it would be a toss-up between the 519A and 219B. 519A is certainly more rosy and at that lower CCT that’s not a bad thing. I previously had 2700K SST-20s and sliced them to improve the tint, but they still looked a bland yellow.

Here to second NeutralFan's comment. Dedomed 519As are a thing of beauty, and happen to also have more output than many alternatives.

NOV-MU with E21A 2000k is by far the best 2000k light out there. I also have 519A dedomed 2700k, which test about 2200k. However, when dedoming the 519A the tint shifts towards rosy and it becomes too rosy to resemble candle light. I prefer the color of the E21A 2000k, which has a DUV of approximately 0.000. Super natural looking and very very cozy for bedroom lighting.

To me, the 2000K E21A has no equal. I have a dedomed 519A 2700K headlamp and it is nice at night (and powerful) but it just doesn’t achieve that same golden sunset effect. I have multiple E21A 2000s around my house at night. Also, the dedomed gives me less flood which can be good for some use cases but it was a sacrifice for me to get a warmer color. Channel 2 is red

I have a DT8 with domed 519A 3500K that’s an awesome ”going for a walk outside” light. I love the beam profile and it puts out a ton of photons off an 18350

Thank you all! I’ll look into dedoming and e21a 2000K since I love candles.

The best candle like led is E17A 1850k

I would second the E17A 1850k. Not a fan of de-doming for my use cases of night photography as it messes up the white balance if there are other light sources closer to the BBL used in the photo.

Nice I don’t have that one. I wonder if Hank has those and if so which light they can go in. I asked him about a D18 with all E21 2000Ks a while ago and he said it wasn’t possible.

I did just get a D18 with all UVs
