I don’t like about the ramping feature, I prefer it to have the normal mode spacing and I could just tap on the switch and change among the 3 or 4 pre-set modes instead. That said I will probably just use this light on Turbo mode all the time lol.
Thanks bibihang. I am glad to see you still active in this BLF community.
Ya, i got into another hobby that occupy most of my time.
Now I found that some of my batteries are not good anymore.
My D size NIMH Ternergy rusted and trustfire 26650 and A123 can’t hold juice, and most painful some glass lens of flashlights are not as clear as before.
So I have to go through some clearing work to throw away batteries and cleaning flashlights and buying batteries. I found that gearbest is like old time fasttech.
Glad that by luck i can join this groupbuy of great thrower developed by BLF members.
I’m in the middle of a similar purge. My a123 18650’s and 26650’s from the mid 2000’s are just now finally starting to go. Amazing how many years and cycles they lasted though. I’m also tossing a terrible quality (knockoff?) purple IMR that cant make more than 4 or 5 amps and never did in addition to any other sicklings.
To resupply, I just impulse purchased 12 new cells, half LG HE4’s and half Sony VTC4’s when the “junction” vendor sent me a decent coupon. I’ve been abusing some LG HE2’s and Panasonic NCR18650’s recently and have no complaints. All are in the “budget” price range under $6 per cell.

I working on a video outlining the full range of available functions in the UI today. I will propbly release it around the time lights start shipping
Hey guys BLF nubie I was about to work a deal with Thrunite on the TN-42 until I saw your light. I love to go camping and I heard something out of my tent on several occasions. My old maglight just wasn’t doing it justice. I love thrower lights and I want the longest one they make. After I saw this video I found out about BLFs and your project. I have a suggestion on the design, add a small reflector around the LED and it will fill the beam in more and make it more concentrated. If you look at the TN-42 Thrunite did a great job in maximizing that reflector. It also evens the light out more instead of separating it into two beams at close distances. I am considering the $14 group buy. Do you know of an ETA on when these things will be in production? I don’t wanna bug you guys too much because I know your still in the trial and test phases.
What are you talking about?
There is only one reflector in a reflector flashlight, and it does not “separate it into two beams”, all light is collected into a single beam.
Good god this thing is huge! I want one, but I personally can’t think of any use except maybe spotlighting planes for the artillery… Is there any rough time frame to manufacture? I need to budget for this guy…
No the TN-42 has two reflectors a main one and a second small one around the de-domed led. Adding this second reflector evens the light out better and helps it project further. Heres some pictures to help explain.
Pica don’t show, but my TN42 has only one reflector and I am pretty sure that is normal
Welcome to BLF
Maybe read the GT thread for reflector ia so extensively spoken about, you’ll love reading about it!
Can’t figure out how to attach a photo I click the photo button to add a link but it doesn’t add. I I swear its there a second lens! And those are really nice lights but I wanna try this BLF one I heard 2.5 hours on the highest setting? Looks like a nice light been waiting for something like this. Thanks for the welcome!
