Here’s a few pics, including an X6 that I built the other day.

Okay, I took another stab at it. I’m not sure if this really helps, and it certainly recycles a lot from the A6, but … here’s an attempt at a UI diagram:

There are lots of little details which are hard to represent visually. For example, if the mode order is high-to-low, the spot labelled “Max?” gets skipped. Also, this represents the UI as shipped, not necessarily what was intended. In any case, I hope it’ll help people who don’t like the text version of the instructions.

Amazing! Excellent work TK!
You know, when you first talked about this I was against it. Too complicated for my memory. Now I see that and I go “See? Easy as that!” lol

I guess I wasn’t as far gone as I thought, now if I can just remember to pay the internet provider bill……

If the tail cap LED/resistors are in parallel, then adding the second LED/resistor should increase the load.
Finding a way to put 2 LEDs in series with a single resistor might be the answer. Then dial the resistance up until the tail cap LEDs barely glow.
Now your parasitic drain is whatever makes 2 LEDs glow.

Jesus mickeys im even more confused. I never realized how crazy the modes are they are. i thought it was just programmable were you click 8 times or so it starts to blink then you have 20 or so mode groups to chose from and half press 12 times if you want mode group 12 like Vinhs drivervn

im sure once i get the lights ill figure it out pretty quick but it just sounds so complicated

XXXXL big and tall t-shirt

It’s a good thing they didn’t goof up the name… we could have ended up with *KRONUT *with a simple typing error.

I’ve been able to get to all my modes on the A6 but not the configuration.
Once I get it blinking for configuring, how do I make the change? A half press just goes back to the next mode of the current group.
I’d love to lock the A6 to the bicycle mode in memory.

This is a little different than the guppydrv config method. If it were configured like guppydrv is (other options being part of the “mode group”), it would have 128 different mode groups. (8 groups * 2 for memory * 2 for moon * 2 for order * 2 for med-press)

So, basically… Choose how many levels you want. Choose what order you want them in. Choose whether you want moon. Choose whether you want memory. Choose whether you want reversing with a medium press. Choose whether you want thermal regulation, and how hot. Or not, you could just go with the defaults. And if someone wants to borrow it, put it into muggle mode to make it extra-simple and limit the output to about half power.

In that case, after you enter config mode (on the A6), wait for it to blink twice, wait for one more blink, then turn it off. This should enable mode memory.

Afterward, navigate to bike mode and turn it off. Next time you turn it on (at least 2 seconds later), it should still be in bike mode.

People had some trouble getting the click window right on the A6, so bistro “stutters” during that window instead. It’s easier to tell when you should click to activate an option.

wow this is no joke !!!
this just took program ability to a new level. it makes more sense now. is there anything i cant change LOL. muggle mode will come in hanfy when my mom yells give me a flashlight i cant find my matching shoes…

NightSpy, there are pads for an LED and a resistor on each side of the switch. Originally, on our samples, they had 2 LED’s and a resistor on each side. Removing one of the resistors made it pretty nice, cutting current draw in half. Somewhere along the way they got the signals crossed and deleted the second LED as well. So now we only have one LED and a resistor on it.

This afternoon I pulled out an old tail switch board with the 2 LED’s/2 Resistors… pulled the resistors and put a 1912 on each pad. Then put that back in my Quad Cu X5. Now I’ve got 2 LED’s pulling 0.17mA in the tail cap, nice dim blue light, barely glowing.

The 2 resistor pads are in parallel, so populating each one is like stacking resistors. Works nicely, pretty easy to make some changes and get the glow down to where you want it, providing you can solder a leash on a flea.

seriously LOL. its that small. idk how people solder such tiny parts. i can barley dedome an led without shaking to much.

Hot air bro.

Get a reflow station

A heads up as I figure out this new ui. I could not reverse with the x5. Hold for 4 or 5 seconds - ramp up. Hold for 6 seconds revert to moon. :frowning: Went into config turned on medium press and viola! Reverse fixed yay batt check!

Sorry, I am not on the waiting list now. Please add me.

I realize that absolute perfection is impossible, and language and time zone and other issues come up… but we witnessed a process here that seemed to be a valid form of proofing each step of the way. I worked in printing for 20 years before the industry pretty much collapsed. In that similarly there was always a staged process, with customer approves proofs, and if something comes off the press that wasn’t on the proof, or was on the proof that the customer highlighted for correction, well, there was hell to pay because the customer would not. This gave massive incentive for not printing 250K beautiful pieces that could only be garbage or recycled. Everyone involved was very very careful when the screwups were costly, and there are even times when they are unavoidable and no one’s fault, like some little bird stops the press.

So how come there’s no finger pointing, its only natural… jk, I’m not witchhunting, just curious. By your description, I assume there was a tail switch approved, and then they went and made something else instead. Are they aware of this? Did they have the final say over the organizers? Again, I assume before full production someone had a final proof that was approved… I could be completely wrong about that, and tweaks and changes were made long after the last and final proof approved.

So where you dealing with Chinese companies for twenty years? If not here lies the difference.

If you’re not aware of it, I’d like to let you know you’ve just said nothing at all. So far, the organizers have been brutally honest, have fielded criticisms and answered every question, and have let all but the most blatent insults bounce off their mature personalities and thick skin. The peanut gallery membership, OTOH, seems to think the organizers are delicate little flowers and seem to see attacks that do not exist. I’m making no insults, nor criticism, simply asking the question. If you weren’t involved in the process, I’m confused as why you’re trying to answer my question with nonsense. Take it easy, will you? I seriously doubt anyone who actually knows the answer needs anyone explaining anything for them.

If you took offence to anything I said please accept my apology as no offence was meant but just a simple answer was all it was meant to be.
