That is the drawback of LeadAcid, SLA batteries, NiCad batteries, and even older NiMH batteries, is they have a short cycle lifespan & short shelf life. Lithium Ion 18650s can last for 10+ years, ( I still have some really old laptop 18650s i pulled from a 11 year old IBM laptop, and they are still working fine with about 70% of their capacity. In a lantern like the LT1 the lower amp drain they would work fine.
Thereâs no need to apologise, youâve done nothing wrong , thereâs nothing worse than not speaking up in fear of sounding negative & upsetting someone, negatives need pointing out ,thatâs how progress is made, if problems are swept under the carpet & some people say âoh thatâs ok for this to be wonky ,itâs not a problem for me because I donât use this function â
The problems donât get fixed .
This lantern has had a lot more testing than the usual âis it ready yetâ items so all should be ok.
Thank you for providing the link,Iâm getting older and sometimes do forget to put down on paper everything that I was thinking of,sometimes couple of days later when looking at the posts my original thought comes back to me and I fix my mistake.
I have tested the same solar folding charger for a full week with the LT1 test unit, and using the lantern for 5 hours per night on high mode, the Eceen 10-watt pictured above charged the lantern to full charge each day, even on partly cluody days, meaning with that charger & the LT1 and a good set of 3000+ mAh cells, you have a sustainable off-grid light source for years, maintenance free.
Below are the current counts per person which includes all the ones added through post #5798. Donât forget to verify that your BLF user name is correct on either of these 2 links ( interest list by entry number or interest list by user name ) in order to insure getting a PM when the buy goes live. Both files pull from the same database table so itâs easier to look at the user name file since itâs sorted alphabetically except for 1 name which has an umlaut in it causing it to sort incorrectly
This is a one-time only check so if youâve already done so then thereâs no need to do it again.
Doesnât the saying that itâs better to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission apply here? And you can always say itâs something needed for emergencies. And that youâre going to sell something else in order to pay for the lanterns? :smiling_imp:
