The peach shakes are back at Chick-fil-A.
Real peach hunks in the bottom.
Like the best things ever.
All the Best, Jeff
I’m going over to Chick-Fil-A for one of those tomorrow! Peaches, especially those when in season, grown in Fredericksburg, TX are just about the best fruit in the world!
I saw Creamy Creations Peaches and Cream are in stock, too!
Now I want one or two I really mean three. Too bad we don’t have any Chick-Fil-A’s close to here. They do sound great though.
I haven’t even been in any fastfood place in years, but if I had a CFA near me, I just might, just for that.
Of course, it’d probably be 18bux nowadays…
Personally, I don’t think Chick-fil-A offers much food for the money, but if I go there, I’ll have to check out the peach shake.
Do you mean quantity, quality, or variety?
Variety, I agree, its either chicken or chicken.
Here’s an English tip:
When someone says that a place doesn’t offer much food for the money, they’re talking about quantity.
Chick-fil-A’s food is fine, but they don’t give you much quantity for what you pay.
That’s true with most fast food places and restaurants, in my opinion.
Of course, I’m grading on a curve, comparing each individual place to my favorite places to eat.
They are scrumptious for sure,
What are you comparing it with to say the quantity of food is inferior. Are you measuring the weight or the size. Or are you measuring calories.
Now there’s some normal human questions.
You forgot to say, “Take me to your leader.”
…
Either you understand “not getting much food for the money,” or else, sadly, you don’t.
Y’all probably saw the see-through McPatties that go on the McBurgers. Like that.
I remember as a kid that Whoppers used to be the size of manhole covers, that as ravenous as I could be, I could only eat 1.5 of them, never 2.
Today? I could probably stuff a whole Whopper in my mouf without even unhinging my jaw.
Shrinkflation.
I long ago went on rants about yogurts always always always being the standard 8oz, then “whips” and “mousse” came along to stuff only 6oz in an 8oz-sized container. Then they ditched the pretense and went to 6oz cups as standard. Key Food’s house-brand, Red Rose, was the last holdout, and to me was the best, even better than Dannon and the like.
Today, they’re even less, maybe 5oz. “Portion control”, ie, it’s a Good Thing for you!!
I just got a 15pak of Scotts paper towels. Noticed it was smaller, but denser, not as squishy as the usual ones I got just last tine I shopped. Sure enough, I get home, plop it onto my existing stash, and saw the physical size difference.
Old ones were about 65m², and the new ones about 61m². So roughly 4m² less in the new package than old. So 4/65 is roughly 1/16th, and out of a 15pak of paper towels, that’s roughly 1 roll short. Yeah, rounding on top of rounding, but my point’s made.
So especially today with 23buk “Big Value Meals” of 6 french-fries and packet of katchup, shrinkflation’s definitely A Thing, even/especially in fast “food”.
Thats what I was referring to but I dont he understands saing: “not enough” when it comes to food can mean several different things. I was curious which one of those things he was referring to.
Folks in Colorado would say that Palisades Peaches have them all beat… But I am sure there is some bias going on here…
I have to admit, getting them locally in season actually ripe off of the tree is a real treat. I really doubt that this is what Chick-Fil-A is using though. That having been said, there are a few pretty close to me. I just may have to try out one of these shakes.
@raccoon … Yes, the quantity of food is not the highest of the fast food places… but it is consistently good and the service is great. Occasionally I will go for quality over quantity… occasionally.
What really POs me is BBQ prices.
Order a pound of brisket and you get a pound of meat.
Order a pound of ribs - for the same price -
And you get 3/4 pounds of bones and a quarter pound of meat.
All the Best, Jeff
Yeh, I pretty much gave up on ribs. Little teasers of meat, piles of bone, huge blobs of fat and cartilage, all held together by kevlar-like silverskin.
And chicken thighs/legs are similar. They look good on the surface, but when you open the package, there’s a huge flap of attached skin tucked underneath.
Try ordering Crawfish – They use to be Cheap, so paying by weight for mostly shell wasn’t bad – Now days it’s ridiculous what they want a pound — We’ve all but given up on eating them
I love eating ribs at restaurants, but they do have to offer a lot of ribs to make up for the bones.
Applebee’s would sometimes offer “unlimited” ribs every once in a while but what they do is give you just a few ribs and then take their sweet time giving you each tiny refill of ribs.
You would have to spend at least an hour and a half at Applebee’s to get a decent number of ribs, which is just ridiculous.
Unfortunately ribs are my favorite.
Many - many - years ago I was working in Calf. A buddy came to visit.
Just by chance we found a little oriental themed eatery. That just happened to have an all you can eat rib night.
Just us, an elderly couple, and a table of 6 huge guys. And at 6-3, 235 I was dwarfed.
And the ribs started flowing. Soon the big guys and us were saluting each other with ribs in the air.
Soon the staff just came out to watch. The owner was clearly not happy.
The big guys were Oakland Raiders. I hit my limit at 38 ribs.
A good time was had by all except for the bottom line.
All the Best, Jeff
Jamba Juice has the Peach Pleasure and the Peach Perfection, but the prices are insane. Probably best just to get frozen peaches from Costco and make your own smoothie in a blender.
I like blueberries so I add frozen ones to my Multi Grain Cheerios along with salted roasted pecans and whole milk.
It’s similar to a blueberry shake, but it’s chewy (and somewhat healthy).
