Budget 365nm UV light?

Anyone able to recommend a good/reasonable budget UV light. Pref 365nm. Not fussed about battery type. But must ship to the UK.

There’s a convoy 365nm UV on banggood pretty cheap about £10 i think

interested as well.. as long as its the "real deal"!

Ive ordered one last week, should be here soonish, I’ll let people know, unless somebody already has one!

I have seen one at KD a while back. IIRC it was a 501b.

Edit: Here you go. http://www.kaidomain.com/product/details.S009842

would rather go for the convoy... just have a little more trust in them, rather than in an ultrafire... who claims 365nm, but who knows

Subscribed. I'm interested in getting either the Convoy or the UltraFire. I'll wait till one of you guys get one first :)

P60 UV drop-in: http://www.kaidomain.com/product/details.S022214

Leds: UV

As I understand, the Kaidomain drop-in has an older type led and has less output than the Convoy.

Moreover, if you like some modding, the Convoy UV led has a 3535 footprint and can be reflowed on a dtp copper board and then driven at 1.5 or so amps for even more output.

Curing Norland 61.

I picked up this 501B UV from fastech: https://www.fasttech.com/p/1082600

I hoped that it would fluores cat urine but it did not work at all for that, fairly bright but useless to me. I'm still searching for a cat pee light, sigh.

Factor in the cost of the eye protection along with the emitter.

(no, I can’t give you reliable advice what choice to make, other than to say eye damage costs more in the long run than eye protection)

Build up your own P60 drop-in using these...

You need a yellow or orange lens to look through to see urine luminesce. 365nm kills viruses and bacteria. Other UV spectrum near that also kill bacteria and viruses but less efficiently the further away from tha spectrum you go. Different minerals luminesce at different UV wavelengths as well, useful to have a spread of wavelengths to see more stuff.

365nm does nothing to bacteria and viruses, any cheap uv-cfl tube will do already better.

I bought a decent UV light from the FastTech. Ultrafire 100LM 3-Mode Purple Light Zooming LED Flashlight 1*AA / 365nm / w/ clip / black for $5.36 a real bargain.

It is brighter than my other UV lights but the three modes thing is odd on a pretty much only one needed type of light. High, Low and Strobe with next mode memory takes the edge off the bargain but come on - under $6, I’ll forgive the flaws. Works great with 14500 as well.

I was unaware that I needed to use yellow/orange glasses to see the fluorescing. Thanks for that gents, I'll give it a try before I start throwing money at a different light.

I’m using the $16 UV LED from intl-outdoor. Reflowed it into a spare brass AA host. Works quite well for norland.

LEDwholesalers UV Protection Adjustable Safety Glasses with Yellow Tint, 7821

So I grabbed my old yellow glasses from HomeDepot http://www.homedepot.ca/product/frameless-safety-glass-amber-lens/900960 and my fasttech UV light. Downstairs where there was little sunlight it worked much better. Upstairs with the sunlight it did not work so I'll have to "wear my sunglasses at night" as the song goes. I do wish the UV light was brighter but it does now work for me and as a bonus I'll not be subjecting my eyes to extra UV light. Thanks for that guys!!
