Huh, looks like DB is watching what the competition is doing. The sand colored EL01KH (ie. the new version) they started selling only a few days ago is now $13.99, while the EL04MCT went up a three bucks.
Heh, I ordered two of those and at the time, I thought I should probably order more before the price goes up. From what I'm hearing, they're still a steal at $13 though.
The EL04 G10 version is still $9.xx if you buy three or more (they've already updated upwards the quantity price for the micarta version). Get 'em while you can. I got 5 yesterday.
David (ahuang) has already stated that any knives using or advertised to use 12c27 steel (which is a Sandvik product) are *not* Sanrenmus, and are in fact counterfeits.
That's the deal with DB; they don't flake 100% of the time. There are a bunch of people that have had no problems, and there are plenty of people that have had very serious problems with DiscoveryBargain. And when DB screwed up both of my previous orders, I had to resort to lengthy PayPal disputes to get my money back. I am hoping that this third time will be the charm. :)
It's a good idea to keep track of what you order and when you should be thinking about doing the Paypal song and dance. After 50 or so orders, I think I've had to file two or three disputes and I don't think they bothered to even respond once. The one thing you want to do, is make sure they get your address correct because they can get really creative when it comes to screwing that up.
One thing I've noticed about their order form is that there is only one field for the "address", and no field for city or state. However, there is a field for "postal code". I usually fill out the full street address with city and state in the single line "address" field.
That said, I realized that I forgot to do that with this latest order and quickly emailed them with my complete address (which should also be evident with the Paypal payment). DB replied within 24 hours with an email stating that they have the complete address.
So far I've had success with almost 10 largish orders.
Most places are. If you're just buying one, I'd say go with GWO or sanrenmu.knife. I've ordered from both: they're reliable and both should have them in stock. Six months ago, the 962 was everywhere (I should have bought more), but they're getting really hard to find these days.
The page www.sanrenmu.com/en changed. Now it became a shop (in progess at the moment). Some people said, that www.sanrenmu.com/en wasn't the official homepage. Does anyone know the link to the offical page?
