My Bank is pretty cool, that add interest to monies in my account.
+1
+1 to sending out the funds to those in need. I also confirm I wonât be asking for a refund.
I think itâs awesome what yâall are doing. We lost our home durning the massive flooding and in times like these every little bit of kindness goes a long ways.
Very sorry to hear of your loss, I simply canât imagine how it was down there, so many folks in your shoes or similar. Hope to add our little bit of help to what is already going on very soon.
Can you give me some feedback on where some cash money could be most beneficial? A specific Church, perhaps, that is helping with food and necessaries? Something like that? Would very much appreciate some direction in this regardâŚ
It was absolutely nuts. We got flooded out last year then ate it again this year. Our house is on pilings (like a bay house) but it wasnât enough. I have a friend that lives a couple hours away in Liberty Tx who lost his house, shop, and his truck. His mom lives right down the road and her house flooded too. Everywhere you go thereâs trash stacked up along the roadside waiting to be picked up from all of the gutted homes. Itâs so sad to see this place like this. Heck, my neighbors just finished tearing down their house after having water up to the roof.
Iâll find out the best place to send donations and let you know.
Thatâs our house in the distance.
The straps over my shop were to keep the high winds from ripping the tin off.
Dale,
Add me to the list of those who wonât ask for a refund of things fall through.
The Hammer, thank you for sharing those pictures⌠unbelievable! The homes, the cars, the sheer widespread nature of it all, just staggers the mind to think about how many people are starting over.
I need to know that if the stated terms are not honored, then at least my money has been applied to the purpose proposed.
I have contacts with a church that has been dispensing food and diapers as the cleanup continues, Iâm also checking into whether or not it would be good to help the local Police departments that have been so heavily taxed helping the victims of this storm. There are a lot of publicly known entities that garner all the attention, I would like to find a more direct route to the little people that are working so diligently behind the scenes. All of it will be going to help those still cleaning up and trying to rebuild, just trying to find the most needy, those that the greater organizations havenât helped.
just help someone
thatâs what I wanted to do
+1000 please do.
I guess Iâm saying do something. I hate stagnation in the face of need. We went through a couple earthquakes and a more recent flood. Our needs were immediate. Insurance or Fema came later. We needed water/food/batteries/medicinesâŚmoney doesnât immediately supply those.
Anyway, people will survive. And I hope we can help some to come through easier.
I hear ya chinooker, I hear ya.
I have been looking at closing this, there are lights nobody seems interested in and the spirit of helping seems to have dwindled in the face of other catastropheâs around the globe. So I want to put an end to it and go forward with the contribution. Because yes, need is now, in so many ways.
Iâm still trying to find a local church or something that is helping but havenât found anything yet. I guess now that the immediate crisis is over no one is thinking about the long road of recovery ahead.
Thatâs exactly why I wasnât worried about it taking some time, those that arenât actually involved canât realize just how long a road it is to get back up and running after something like that. Especially the Rockport area that got annihilated by the eye of the storm, gonna be a long time before any kind of normalcy occurs.
well, I am disenchanted with this project
I donât want anything
butt will consider hard my participation in any other efforts to help
Iâll look around
Neal informed me that he is putting together a spreadsheet to give to Lumintop so they can all be shipped at once. I get the feeling the Chinese Holiday has had something to do with all this and they are now back to normal. So everybodyâs light/lights should be shipping out soon.
I am not sure you understand my displeasure
I wanted to help someone
someone
get the help out to someone
not my damn lights
I do understand, and help it will. Those big guys come in and take names and information, cut checks, the process begins⌠whoâs there 6 weeks down the road? 8? Everybody forgets about em and moves on. I am about to get at least half of it to a Church I know of that is moving food and diapers and clothing by the truckload on a daily basis. Still. Itâs getting harder and harder for the Church to keep supplies, people are slacking off. Gotta be somebody to have their back. Right?
