So I ordered a couple Enlan EL-01 ’s from the new Exduct site as a result of reading about them on this forum. I specifically asked that the pivot screws be tightened down to avoid customs issues (in Canada flick knives are prohibited if you can open without touching the blade). Knives arrived with pivot screws tightened to the point where I could not open the knife, but at least they got here. Tried every tool in my workshop and could not get a grip on that pivot screw so I took some scrap brass and made one. The design is simple, drill a hole in the center and cut 3 slots but it works like a charm, and its even better than the steel tool they sell that scratches the pivot screw (like all the ones I received ), also its a lot smaller and lighter. I did it on my milling machine but anyone with a Dremmel can easily make this out of scrap metal or hard plastic for a lot less than they are selling the tool for on Exduct.
I made one out of derlin but I like yours better. Thanks for posting.
Very nice. I need one.
I really like the look of the pivot screw on that model but cant adjust it, though mine didnt and hasnt needed it.
Nice! You could probably make a few bucks off it depending on time/material costs for you. Looks very well made!
Alternatively, you can use a drill chuck to lock on to the triangular ridges, or just dremel a slot into the screw
I really like the look of the pivot screw and did not want to dremel a slot in it, but the drill chuck…. that’s brilliant, i cant believe i didn’t think of that. thanks
Nice thinking on that brass bit Bribo. Quite creative and resourceful. I may give it a shot to avoid scratches.
The drill bit in a pinch idea is brilliant too. Thanks M1K3Z0R.
