Last night…I decided to use my new soldering station to replace the LED in my M3XS-UT Javelot with a dedomed XP-G2 S4 2B led. Everything came apart very easily. I heated the mcpcb with a butane torch and removed the XP-L and put the XP-G2 in place, started heating the mcpcb and within seconds it turned black on top. It melted the pad on top, which came off along with the copper traces. How can I go about putting another pad on top with new traces…can that even be done? Would it be better to sling an MT-G2 in it now since I’ve got an M24 on the way?

Yes, Olight default MCPCBs are non durable for resoldering, but you can always put a noctigons in there, i tried S2 2b in M3x but the beam became too narrow( and its narrow enough)…just dedome V6 1D and voila
I know the MT-G2 won’t throw as far but it’ll put out a nice thick beam.
MT-G2 won’t work with the stock driver anyway, it’s a buck driver stepping the 2 cells down to ~3V for the XM-L2/XP-L emitter. Of course, you can always strip the driver and piggyback in a Zener modified FET driver, then your MT-G2 should rock it pretty nicely. 
Don’t heat the mcpcb directly. Put it on a 1/16” sheet or strip of aluminum and heat that, it will buffer the temp a bit.
What size is the MCPCB? If it is standard you could just get another…
It’s proprietary, they use a large diameter but half circle kind of thing. Doesn’t matter, a 26mm MAXToch fits in there fine. Or whatever you want to fit in there, make it work and call it good. 
Yeah, I planned on putting a Fet in there but I’m not sure about the e-switch on the side. Should I order a Fet with e-switch firmware or will clicky work?
Need the right firmware to go with the e-switch, then the tail clicky works as lockout. You can, of course, just use a clicky driver and not hook up the e-switch at all. That will also work. But having the side button for mode changes is nice a lot of the time.
I’ve got an MT-G2 in my M3X Triton and it works beautifully, no side switch on that one of course. De-domed XP-L in the M3X-UT Javelot, HI in my M2X-UT Javelot running an FET driver. Nice little beasty that one is.
Tom has a firmare suited for tiny 85 but i still havent tested it- Yezl is also waiting for it though
Btw Dale you shoud try Fet in M22 Warrior, i am very pleaced with the result .
A dedomed V6 1D running at 6 amps, 26mm fet driver( 4 mode plus fi9refly) and nearly 90k mcds: it came out a very good torch indeedthe bump in candelas vs the default m22 is above 400% :bigsmile:
Oh Thanks Mitko! I’ve been looking at the M22 Warrior for as long or longer than I’ve had my eye on the Barracuda. Pulled the trigger on the bigger one but am still not sure that was the best idea. The M22 Warrior was reviewed here a while back by a guy that took an awesome series of photo’s, unscrewing the tube and disassembling the light, putting it back together, awesome work he did! That made me want one, bad! lol
I just found out that the Quark TurboX had been discontinued for a while, kind of the predecessor of the X6. So I found one and bought it just because. So there goes the Warrior. I’m forced now to sell some lights, been too buy happy lately and all the components and cells are kicking the Christmas budget’s tail! (The wife, not happy)
Yeah its a good flashlight, Bangood had those for 28 US shipped a while ago and i got several, i actualy got one 3 years ago but by that time it was quite different.
Do you know that now it comes actualy with a very nice dtp mcpcb? Was a surprice for me indeed
The only bad thing about it is that its reflector brings not that lovely green shift but using that emitter its bareable, plus i found its quite calming for the eyes, used it in my last hunt- a real veiwing distance of 300 meters, and it reminds me of x6 you know
It has quite good head dissipation too- most of the head goes straight to the fl head
Yeah i know what you mean by Xmass time: the bigger wants a new phone, the small one Jiant Hydra play set but the US store that sells it ships it only to lower 48 , wifey always want someting and i put my eyes on a new LCD ….
