Car mounting ideas for flashlights

So here’s a question. What innovative ways have people come up with to mount a flashlight in a car/truck, etc.

Traditional Maglite could use some nice plastic clips. They would hold a D cell Mag secure, but quickly accessible. Struggling to find ideas for other flashlights.

mount them inside or outside? so you can operate them while driving? Or purely for storage?
I have my light(s) between seat and gearbox, just stuck in between. one also in glovebox (without mounting it). There is also one in the trunk inside a box.

All my cars are Old, none ever had a cup holder. And yes, lots of exposed Steel on the interiors. Magnets work fine for me, or the large glove boxes.

18650 lights are about broom-handle size and there’s lots of hangers/clips for them. Self-stick cable organizers with TyWraps left loose could vertically mount a headed light if left a bit loose. The light’s clip could be slid onto something including something you make for that. Forget the light for the moment and think only of the shape and you’ll see a dozen ways to do this

In cars mine go loose into a center console or glovebox. One C8 is in a cardboard ‘junk’ box beside the seat in my work van, my SK68 is clipped onto a strap in back, and my BLF A6 goes into an open hard pocket on the engine cover along with a boxed spare cell. There’s a Tank 007 E09 on my van keys and a Quantum on the car keys in my other pocket. There are are at least 4 alkaline fed lights in the van too along with extra cells for them.

I really feel bad about not having enough lights in my van. Maybe Santa will bring me more! :stuck_out_tongue:

Suction cup?

Oh wait, you mean IN the car!

Plumbing supplier’s have a good selection of clips that work well
15, 22 and 28mm plastic pipe clips for copper pipe work well.
Lights just snap in and out of them. Mount vertical or horizontal and one or two clips, depending on how secure you want your torches to be

For bigger lights,as long as head is slightly larger than the body, 1” and a quarter, inch and half or two inch waste pipe clips work well, just mount clip horizontal and drop torch in from top, you can wrap multiple layers of electrical tape around the clip to get a snug fit.

Should add they are probably more suitable for mounting in vans or 4x4’s, probably wouldn’t look so good in a brand new BMW lol

Instead of tape, slip some heat-shrink tubing over them  Cleaner and lasts longer, it ain’t just for wires anymore!

Good idea, thanks
That gives me another idea, I can use the sticky backed close cell foam tape to get the exact internal size I need then slip over heat shrink tubing to keep it in place as per your suggestion
