Carlco triple optics

Is there more than one 10507 optic?

The difference in specs looks a lot like the difference between a large die (like XP-G) & small die (Rebel, XP-E) using the same TIR. Probably just an error in which one is using which LED.

That makes sense. Also I noticed the quads also uses 10mm optics and is rated at the same cd/lm. So will the quad throw just as well as the triple?

The 10621 seems to have slightly better throw than the 10622. Is that all that is different?

Some of the 10mm based carclos have a lens molded into the top surface instead of it being flat.
You can see it better on some other pictures. 10621
At carclo’s site you will find it listed as “Finish Top Lens”. 10mm optics

I see, thanks. So I guess that would add just a bit of extra height to the whole set up.

Going from the datasheets it doesn’t add anything. It is set in from the front surface so that it doesn’t add height.

~ edit ~
Might be easier to see on the 10507 at ledsupply.

You can see the edge of sort of “hole” set into the front surface. The lens is molded inside there.

Just took a quick look at the 10507 surface and some other optics I have, I think I get it now. The surface just isn’t a flat surface but nothing protrudes out. I was just a bit confused because the 10507 is considered a “plain” even though it has the same “finish top lens”.

Its worth noting that the 10507 is one of the 20mm optics Carclo dont list for XPG-2, I suspect the larger dome of the XPG-2 is not a good fit, however they do list the 10508. It makes sense in that the Ledil Satu which was for XPG has been updated to a XPG-2 version
