Charging current suggestion for this unusual battery

I found this battery from my pocket taser. The diameter of the battery is same as AAA, there are no marking about the volt or capacity. On my meter it is showing 1.28v, I was wondering if i can use an energizer charger to charge this at 1.4v and 100mA.

I was thinking maybe an N cell, but those are a little wider than an AAA … I’d still do it as a NIMH/NiCd

Can you find input specs on your device? Just one cell in it?

There were four of these. The taser is a cheap Chinese one so there are no specs. The cell is only 1 or 1/2 mm thinner than a N size battery but the height is same.

Probably what they are then. Should be OK. Just watch and make sure they don’t get more than a little warm. I was reading a data sheet for Eneloop AAs that said standard charge was 200mAh and fast was quite a bit more at reasonable ambient temp. They also might go up to ~1.6v at full.

I sometimes use pennies or a copper scrap or alum nail cut down for a spacer but I’ve still not had to recharge my Ns since I got them early last year. I had been using 2AAAs and found a light was spec’d for 3 Ns so it now runs a little brighter.
